80 years later, the Rock Chalk Chant resounds as a radio signal

On this day in 1938, NBC affiliates nationwide carried Rock Chalk Chant over the airwaves during a broadcast in honor of KU’s 75th anniversary.
In this recording, legendary newspaper editor and KU professor William Allen White boasted of the chant’s international status; the iconic college yell then followed a performance of KU’s Alma Mater, “Crimson and the Blue.”
