While watching a video from a different channel, it magically cut my leg in 246 pieces. This video not only fixed my leg, but gave me a 3rd leg and a magical banana that made me become one of the jewels in King Mankey's crown. Thanks!
This series is such a fun take on the Nuzlocke formula. Very much enjoying it so far. (Though I _do_ think that Archie and Maxie were meant to be right about which orbs they take. The orbs were meant to correspond with the glowing markings on the Pokemon's bodies, but it got lost because Groudon's markings literally only glow on the Ruby title screen. Certainly, the anime showed the Blue Orb being controlled by Groudon, and the Red Orb being controlled by Kyogre, and the orbs _did_ awaken the correct Pokemon, they just didn't give control. But the Red Orb doesn't _control_ Groudon either (or vice-versa for Kyogre), it causes it to _attack_ the player in R/S. I think the implication was meant to be that they were enraged by the presence of the other's orb.) (Of course, most of this went over everyone's heads because everyone very reasonably assumed the orbs were meant to match the Pokemon's skin, and when the Orbs returned in HGSS, they'd been switched. The Blue Orb lets you encounter Kyogre in the Embedded Tower in HG, and the Red Orb does the same for Groudon in SS, with the _Jade_ Orb being added for Rayquaza if you showed Oak the other two (but only if they were caught in Johto, annoyingly), and then ORAS fully committed to the switch. Pokemon's always had a spotty relationship with subtlety- See the repeated use of Braille puzzles that ask you to do absolutely ridiculous nonsense to make some random golems spawn versus "Kids are too dumb to take a flute to the Spear Pillar so we can't release Arceus.")
Another amazing video!! Imma be honest, I had completely forgotten about the "bring the winners into the next Nuzlocke" rule in the beginning, so I was very confused when I saw the Ampharos ahah! I think a small recap wouldn't have hurt. I also got super scared when I saw you not picking the Mudkip at the beginning of the game. Mudkip outclasses the other 2 starters so hard in Hoenn that's not even funny... although I understood your reasons (bringing Blaziken to Platinum would be great, and you managed to do it) I don't think it compensates the extra effort you had to make for the fact that you didn't get to use Swampert in this run, which is straight up the best Pokémon in any Hoenn playthrough/Nuzlocke. You probably could've finished it in less time and with less casualties along the way, but nonetheless, going off the beaten path also allowed you to improve your problem solving skills in Nuzlocking! Which is always good, too. Speaking of which, DAMN, I wish I had the balls to attempt Guts strats with a paralyzed Pokémon 😱, the fear of a full paralyze is way too much for me to feel comfortable doing it... Nonetheless, congratulations!! Can't wait to see the next installment in this series 😄
I LOVE Mudkip but there are SO many water types and some very decent ground types in Hoenn that it doesn’t really matter which starter you choose 😊 Also, I’m not certain nor have I done any real research but I have a feeling Guts cancels out Paralysis 🤔 I used a Heracross recently in HG who had Guts ability and when paralyzed it completely ignored the status condition making all of his moves crazy strong!
@@Poket_gmr Mudkip is by far the best Pokémon in RSE Nuzlockes because it is the only guaranteed Ground type into Watson, trivializing the most difficult gym fight in the game, is one of the best options against Flannery and early Maxie fights, learns Ice Beam to defeat Winona and Drake, is a strong Surf user against Tate&Liza... and is only hit super effectively by about 6 mandatory fights grass type Pokémon in THE WHOLE GAME. It's, by far, the best option, completely outclassing my poor baby Treecko... and even Torchic, which is still very viable despite the glaring disadvantage against the late game (especially in Emerald). Also, Guts doesn't remove the effects of status ailments except the attack drop from burn. So, that Swellow could very well stay fully paralyzed, and that could've been problematic... 😬

Love your videos and your style of humor! Personally, I feel like we started halfway thru the journey by not knowing much about the 5 runs before this one. I understand it was probably because of time, but having a bit of a quick summary would add some continuity. Me thinks :)

Next time, I would like to see a short montage or narration of how you lost your previous runs. Maybe it sounds dumb, but sometimes we learn more from the nuzlockes we fail than those we beat.

And unless perfect RNG is met on the first run, it is almost inevitable a reset. Though, I'll admit, if you truly make it happen on your first try, I'll tip my hat to you.
Was Bradley badly poisoned in the fight against Norman or just regular poisoned? I can't tell if the enemy pokemon chipped you throughout the battle or you had Toxic instead of regular poison.
It's been a few weeks since I looked at the footage. But if I recall correctly, Bradley didn't take any damage from Norman's Pokemon. And I'm pretty sure he was poisoned from Poison Point or Poison Sting or something like that
