Sitting in my yard listening to an owl and birds chattering is so much more important than going to the mall.Laughing at squirrels fight over food gives me joy. A gentleman witnessed to me in the grocery store. Where was all this years ago? I feel the Holy Spirit so strong and have peace because I know there is my God watching over.i hope He can use me in some way. I owe so much to Him. I have major surgery the 11th of this month. I've just recently discovered Greg Laurie through his teaching on You Tube. It is absolutely great to hear a real sermon, they are few and far in-between these days. He's the real deal, he preaches the word of God and with enthusiasm. Praise God for his sincerity.
Recently found a podcast loved the sermon and the Lord.
Sheila, I am like you, finding Paster Laurie's teachings. He has opened my eyes to a new regard for the Book of Revelation. I have always been afraid of its context. Primarily because of its 'horror' images that I did not understand. And not understanding something is a very terrifying state of mind for me to be in. From the day of my birth till this very day there has been no one (human) that I ever felt safe with nor to trust nor to find comfort with. Even after I gave my life to Jesus when I was 16 I have struggled with feeling safe/secure or attached to a human. Being given away as a baby, obeying the rules of the foster care dance, and then being adopted by alcoholics who really didn't want children has given me a huge challenge when it comes to feel wanted or loved...even by God...however, I have hope as I draw closer to Him...

I read recently that we aren't saying the names of our Lord God and Jesus by their correct name which was " Jeyowa and Jeoishwa" approximate spelling I have written as I can't find or remember exactly. For me, THIS was an incredibly powerful lesson. The straight spareness, honesty on the difficult life lessons, the fact that just like me, from a hard childhood, you can look back & actually see how in Jesus, I am a new creation, the old is new, praise God forever❤‼️ Greg's witness that he chose his Earthly as well as his Heavenly Father is a poignantly beautiful testimony. My Next door neighbor and I, every Wednesday morning, go together to prayer service at our Church at 5:45am. and this Wednesday, we were talking about what I was listening to on the internet and it was this guy named Pastor Greg Laurie. I said to Wayne, He was talking about Revelation and he made it all so much clearer to me! Wayne smiled looked at me, and said so was I and Janet, we listened to the same program! the thing was it was 2am I couldn't sleep so I got on my computer and watched the program, Wayne he smiled and said well I couldn`t sleep so I got on my computer and watched Greg Laurie talk about Revelation, He said I think it was about 2am!!

Greg I love listening to you about What is the Mark of the Beast means. I was saved when I was 17 and blessed by God's grace. I am 69 and I never look back from that day. God is my Savior and always will be. I listen to you to day and I would like to say thank you it help understand this much better. I thought for years if I am here on earth and I Have to shop for food how can I when I need the mark and I believe in God. Then you explain everything and I know now I will be with my father in heaven before this takes place. God will not let this happen to his children. May God Bless you and your family.

I've listen to Greg Laurie on christain radio in early 2000s. greg has wonderful testimony. The teaching of Revelation is important. The end time signs are very obvious. What is happening in this world is clear signs we are heading into one world order. Artificial intelligence is getting more advanced. Pastor Greg clearly describes the mark of the beast. It is better to be caught up in Rapture than be left behind to face tribulation period. The time to be saved is now. Jesus is the only way truth and Life!!!!!!!!!

Good to hear the preaching on this subject and consistent with orthodox eschatology.
In August of 2021, my grandson was shaken by his sitter. God carried our family through this extremely difficult and life-changing tragedy. My grandson by God’s grace survived. I believe the power of prayer saved him. I will never understand how the Lord works but I am thankful daily that he does. I also believe that God is continuously working to help my daughter cope. I have faith that even though this little child has some struggles ahead that God will still be carrying him as he did that terrible day.

In May 1983, we lost my wife of 6 years, love of my life and mother of my 2 kids (now 41, 43). She was in the hospital fir a week after we had a car accident. The night before she died, her eyes opened wide open, and she said, “The Angels are Coming!” Then withdrew into herself and began speaking jibberish, which I now know as speaking in tongues.. the next morning, she died. She was almost 24yo.

Greg is a great communicator. For the record, the view that he’s teaching (the futuristic interpretation of the Revelation) was never seen in the church until the 1500’s. That, in itself, does not make it wrong but I’m just saying; it’s new to the church.
A little late in my response. You will appreciate that multiple research has shown that the Church Fathers - disciples of the disciples , 1st and 2nd century after Jesus’s time - believed and taught the “Futuristic Interpretation” as you call it. See the research of scholars like Ken Johnson, Tommy Ice, Grant Jeffrey, and others. You probably subscribe to the John Darby story, which should be laid to rest as it has been debunked by these gentlemen.
Augustine and Origen began spiritualizing the end time prophecies, departing from original (and in our view, correct) teaching.
Church fathers taught it. Though not absolute proof, It’s a strong argument that it is the correct understanding. Remember, The closer you are to the source, the more likely it is that you are getting faithful teaching. For example, Irenaeus was a student of Polycarp, who has himself a student of John, scribe of Revelation.
1. While I certainly do not ascribe to the belief that Darby created the view he certainly did popularized. Having said that I think it can be easily established that the “End times futuristic“view was created in the 1500s by a Jesuit monk. 2. I would agree with you that the early disciples thought the book to have futuristic. The question is; how far in the future? There are a number of places of the book that says that these things were going to shortly come to pass. 3. Concerning Augustine and origin, make no mistake about it EVERYONE spiritualizes the book of the revelation. Not one person takes a literal. That being said I don’t primarily agree with the “idealist“ interpretation. At this point I lean more towards the prettiest view. I could be wrong about that. I’m not dogmatic. I am pretty confident that it was not meant for a “end times“ future.
@@mayorrodgers7446 Your number 1 is not in agreement with number 2. If you concede that the early disciples taught the futuristic view, then no monk in the 1500s can claim to be the originator of the idea.
"How far into the future". As i mentioned, the disciples of the disciples taught that it was yet future to them. It can be reasoned then that they cannot have believed that "this generation" was Jesus' time. And what was their criteria for judging the prophecies' fulfillment? Literal fulfillment. Not allegorical symbolic fulfillment.
"Everyone spiritualizes the book...". Im not sure what to make of your statement. We (premillenial) recognize that figures of speech exists in the text, often indicated by words like "i saw a VISION..." or "I saw something LIKE..." or "learn the PARABLE OF...".
So we know when something is only symbolic, by the immediate context.
But We take the rest literally if the passage reads literally and the context agrees. A flood literally happened. A donkey literally spoke. The sea literally parted. Elijah was literally escorted into heaven. Water literally turned into wine. Jesus literally rose from the dead. Old testament prophecies of the 1st coming were literally fulfilled. We dont see a reason why end time prophecies should be exempt from this way of undetstanding. And apparently neither the earliest church fathers.

The church I used to go to the pastor seemed like he was acting vs genuine faith. I picked up on it immediately. The sr pastor was like an actor on a soap opera. I know alot of people that still go there. I like Greg he seems like he would be the exact same guy in church or in a store.
