44:34 you are right. In korean 1140th Marine Corps there was an actual shooting incident where a soldier was bullied and he killed 4 others. Dae ho served in the 1140th Marine Corps so Korean audiences assume he experienced that incident and has PTSD now
A whole lot of you have misconception about PTSD. From the beginning, he doesnt know how to load a gun. Was firing frantically. It just came down to realization of what he has gotten himself into. Got scared
Okay, people who are like “the actor who played Thanos was on drugs” in Korea weed is still considered a hard drug, he smoked weed and got 2 years probation and cancelled for it, that’s his “being on drugs” scandal. 🙄 he was then bullied to the point where he tried to commit suicide and was luckily found and saved.
The Front Man/In-ho is definitely the highlight of this season IMO. Every core character/player left alive by the end of this season ties back to the him in some way. I think there's a part of In-ho that wants to believe in Gi-hun's ideals, but he forked into a different path. In-ho's experiences made him pessimistic and what he's doing to Gi-hun is him trying to justify his path of not trying to be the hero to change the system like Gi-hun is trying to do. It's the "matrix debate" they presented in Ep 2. The "coward marine" in this episode also ties in to that theme. The mother-son duo might have a profound effect on him because of his relationship with his step-mother. The isolation of the Trans character you can link back to how he was also left isolated by everyone "taking bribes" to save his wife. He also very clearly has a soft spot for the pregnant girl because she reminds him of his pregnant wife and all the complications with that. I think him being part of the game, in combination to whatever his brother Jun-ho is going to do and whatever may happen next might lead into him having a change of heart at the very end of next season.
I'm glad to "sea" I'm not the only one who was suspicious of the captain from the start. Just, the way he would react to things and the camera angles, the clues were there if you paid close enough attention. Also, we're really just suppose to believe that he just happened across him in the water? The only way you make it off the island alive is if they want you too. Anyway, what a brutal stopping point/cliffhanger, I guess we wait until S3 to see if they let our boy survive or if he even wants to at this point... kind of disappointed we didn't get a face reveal from the front man to Gi-Hun, but still loved Season 2 and your reactions to it!
Gi Hun had a great plan - lets steal some weapon and go sowhere, against unknown quantity of enemies and do something) I mean, he really thought it will end good?
Exactly, he’s blinded by revenge, there’s no way the plan would work because they were not only severely outnumbered, but also on *their* facility were they know the exact layout, with hundreds of soldiers. It was a dumb plan that only got more people killed than it should’ve, mostly participants in the X team who weren’t even informed they were gonna be attacked overnight
prob figured if he killed the main boss man the games will stop, if i had to guess he was probably thinking of the possible future games and the lives he would save if there were no more games
he did not account of having a enemies in his team, because he so focused to helping people, gi hun should already knew what frontman sound like when he thanks him in limo car in victory in season 1
With due respect, I think more grace could have been extended to the one who threw the glass bottle as well as the one who has PTSD (perhaps from his previous life in the marine). Not everyone could withstand the trauma and pressure under those circumstances. Not nice to call them cowards or useless I feel. Good reaction nonetheless, but more putting yourselves in the shoes of the characters is needed haha.
Nah 388 made himself seem like the toughest guy ever with that “marine” bs. Then when shi hits the fan and it’s time to fight back all you literally have to do is grab some bullets and come back. Mind you there were no other guards back the other way cause they were all dead and the cams were out. He straight just sold his team. Freakin coward
@@SuzyLuOfficial all good! looking forward to the final season. i drew a lot of social lessons from it (if you got to read the analysis), albeit being so grim but real.
@@SuzyLuOfficial I think the front man actually believed Gi Hun was right , but the plan that Gi Hun did in the end is what possibly made him turn because Gi Hun was willing to sacrifice lives just to end the game .
I think the square was unsure what to say with 001 being present. And he knew, once he is unmasked his life is forfeit and not a second later after he saw 001 he was shot.
I didn’t like how Gi-Hun didn’t alert the whole X Team about the attack from the O Team for sacrificing a few to save the rest. It’s not fair to leave people vunerable to being attacked in their sleep without having a chance to fight back. The soldiers would’ve came eventually regardless of who died or not.
Suzy Lu, you are truly one of the best reactionists for Squid Game! Your reactions made rewatching SG2 even more enjoyable, and I can’t wait to see your new reactions when Season 3 returns on June 27th this year.
Thanos (TOP) Only smoked weed less than a hand full of times for depression. It’s honestly not that serious outside Korea. He didn’t need to be so shamed to the point of trying to commit s****e. Which did happen.
I think Gi-hun choices of action in this finale is a messed up, because its a very raw plan. First, he doesn't know the whole place well and know the risks with this plan to kinda "shutdown this game". He also doesn't know the whole picture and how shady the organization behind it. That is why Gi-Hun is really like taking a gamble with his actions. Hope next season he became more wiser and skeptical.
I'm not a fan of the plan either but it's a plan out of desperation that was not his first plan. He already tried taking them down the outside and all that got him after two years is his way back into the games as a player. He tried to save as many people as he can in the first game and he tried to get people out through voting but that failed. You're not taking into account everything he's tried and failed up to now.
I feel Gi-Hun will finally accept that he has to be sole winner to get off the island unless the detective on the outside can somehow find a way onto the island. Gi-Hun will finally realise trying to save people is pointless
The Creator/Writer/director always even before season 1 wanted to show/capture the things that are wrong about a fiercely competitive society as well as the gaps b/w haves and have-nots , also as an allegory of modern capitalist society centered around characters that feel like everyday people and he thought it'd be fun if it was combined with a children’s game.
Bruh you're talking about a man just murdered a person where there's a fight going on in the background, wouldn't it be reasonable to get scared and hide yourself? I like the honesty in your reactions but sometimes u should reflect on what u said
my prediction on season 3 for now, circle team won the majority ppl so the game will continue. gihun back in the game and assuming number 1 is dead in the battle too.
I think Frontman goal is to take away all the people he cares about like this season his friend (wonder if people know he was in season 1 first two episodes)....i'm wondering if he's breaking him down to the point where Gi-Hun might become the next Frontman
I doubt Gi-Hun would end up falling into the void of darkness and becoming the Frontman, I can see him struggling to move on but there’s no way he’s becoming the person who’s responsible for killing the people that he cares about and don’t forget he still has a family of his own outside of Korea that’s waiting for him to come back. Not only that, the younger brother of the Frontman and his team are giving all out to find Gi-Hun and put an end to the games once and for all. Remember that South Korea are known for making remarkable revenge films throughout the decades so I have a feeling the final confrontation against In-ho is gonna be something we will never forget.
