Personally I would have chosen a more recent version because the guitarist and the drummer have improved a lot in the meantime and they have enriched this piece a lot. If you want, look for a version from a this year's concert 👍
This is a song against the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The music represents the sounds of war. As we in Europe, depending on the oil of Russia, gasoline got more expensive. That's what the chorus "We're gonna dance on gasoline" alludes to. You should listen to a live version of Paura del buio with English subtitles. But everything is great, so just listen to what you like.
Honestly I'm impressed with how openly they take a stands for the things they care about. Some might say that it's part of the marketing, as it suits the "rock image" but on the other hand they also get an immense hate for it. Especially at the time, when many were trying to be neutral. And it's especially impressive since they often represent exactly the opposite of Italy's political and social climate.
@washeuteaugensehen4699 they may have their issues with italian politic and politicians, but war is something one should react regardless of what your government is doing (imho) In general, rather timid reaction to this conflict from music community just shows that kind of personalities are on the top
@@MsRumex yes, but that's what I mean. Many people seem to believe that artists should never become political, that it's unfair to their audience, cringe etc. I don't care. If there's something you have a clear stance on (like in this case, who's an agressor and who's the victim, or in case of fighting against discrimination), you should speak, because you're in the small privileged group of people who have a platform to do so. It's the only way to influence the masses, someone with visibility has to speak up. And especially if your country is sitting on the fence. Actually I noticed that big chunk of hate they're getting from Italy seems to be politically or socially motivated. They usually don't say it openly if course, but at that time I saw a lot of comments calling them traitors, "American puppets"(very Russian-troll- like sounding insult) and stupid kids who don't care about Italy's best interest.
@@MsRumex Italy is conservative and used to have quite a lot Putin supporters. So of course those people would jump on the hate wagon, because Måneskin stands for what's the exact opposite. Also some regular haters just like to throw political arguments to make their hate campaign more multidimensional.
In their own gigs there's usually a slightly longer instrumerntal section at the end I guess here their time was limited being part of the Global Citizen event.
Damiano has such a unique voice...strong, recognizable, raspy. Its amazing how he is singing so much and so good without backing vocals. And his raspiness sounds so flawless bec its natural. Torna a casa the unplugged version is a masterpiece
Salve ragazzi ...
The pronunciation is "MON-eh-skin." It's the Danish word for moonlight for this Italian band. They've been at it for a long time and are near the top of rock world. The live shows are them at their best as they got their start playing in the streets of Rome. I'd try I Wanna Be Your Slave at Glastonbury for a good idea of what they're capable of. They are all attitude, charisma and let's face it sex appeal. Thomas on guitar is a monster player. It's not seen much here but his contribution to the music is heavy. Be careful which shows you decide to review, they get pretty well undressed by the middle of them! ;)
Ok, for the next reaction of them: I wanna be your slave in Glastonbury 2023 ruclips.net/video/xq9KzVjx97Y/видео.htmlsi=owFGybII9B-XG0mw You'll really see them in their element. Or if you want some music video, the official MV for Zitti e Buoni! It's the song they won Eurovision with.
Hi there! It is soooo pleasant to see and listen to your smart and interesting reactions. I suggest a song which has all you need to dive into Maneskin completely: It's live, it's in Italian, It's fully rock, it shows the personality of the members, the video is very well produced, and great liason with the crowd... you'll see yourself! IN NOME DEL PADRE live in Tokyo ruclips.net/video/Spbxk9AoyeI/видео.html
Great vocals, stage presence and performance. Imho, the instrumentation was pretty dull - particularly the “thumper” bass not playing any melody lines. My first time hearing them. I think the song could use some more melody in the bass and more fireworks from the guitarists and more active percussion, too. I guess it’s really meant as an “attitude”song - that has a place in a show; I’d just hope they have a lot more range and instrumentation and compositional ability than what they show here. 🤷🏻♂️😎✌🏼
@@bobespirit2112 They have a lot of other great songs in two different languages - English and their native Italian - if you are curious look for their live show from Lollapalozza Chicago from summer 2022 and follow what you like.

This song is even more epic now. This is old version. There's powerful intro, drums and guitar are improved a lot in live version

Thx. Fun fact: The bass has lowered the E-string to a C,
which gives a different sound.
It's a "Fuck Putin" protest song, very explicit. Peace.
Thanks for the interesting info, Henrik.
