Cain went away from the presence of the Lord, and settled in the land of Nod…Cain knew his wife… there had to be other people.
But there are different creation accounts and various things that contradict… the book is more for lessons and some accounts of Jewish history

God isn't the only God which is clearly referenced in that book. There's two different accounts of people being created. There were other populations of people.
