Even in Hollywood or Bollywood, actors who have been around for a few years (in Bollywood even 5-10yrs is considered "rookie") they are wooden and serious because they can't afford to offend their seniors, like Salman or SRK can (who have been around for 40-50yrs now). Same with Hollywood. Like NPH, Ricky Jervais, Tina Fey can take digs at biggies but someone like say the new Snow White actress (sorry, I am too out of touch with Hollywood these days lmao) can't because they would be considered arrogant and rude. The only exception is when they come from strong backgrounds and who grew up in the industry because their parents/grandparents are a part of it. Which doesn't generally happen in kpop/k-industry (no nepotism here, so far) so the juniors have to be extremely cautious to not step on seniors or get their egos offended (which, in a seniority-oriented society like Korea would practically mean a career suicide)
