    Bonus hacks: cut holes in your seat for extra grip. Grease your brake rotors to make braking smoother. Cut your shock springs for lower center of gravity. Replace your oil with gear oil for added protection. Cut off two out of every three tire knobs so the remaining ones can REALLY bite! Drill holes in the sides of your silencer to let it really breathe. Remove the air filter altogether, its unnecessary restriction. Remove every other spoke to reduce unsprung mass. Fill your tires with Great Stuff foam to prevent flats and having to check pressures all the time!

      You guys have definitley never had ice in your pegs, wet snow sticks in those holes (also from the underside) and then gets compact, next thing you notice is you slip of your pegs as if it was ice because you can't reach the iron of the pegs anymore. By filling them up with silicone the snow won't start hanging on there as it did before.

      Or... because you run off road most the time and have to travel highway for 2000 miles in 4 days and you have wide sharp pegs, I do this similar actually, except I use large radiator hose, clamp it tight onto the pegs I run a few bolts from the bottom thru inside so the nuts are in contact with my boot to help sturdy it out in case I need to stand for a bit yet. Dont want to slip off. I realize there are pegs that have inserts, but I'm a MacGyver on the road I'd rather save my money for other things. I still use my bar roll maps from the late 90s I inherited, complete with years of edits and comments, locations from my father and uncle, their friends. Still have the 98 XR he bought new. Excellent comment Tho. I've had so many people whine about pegs fatigue on the road, (don't blame them) and this always makes a smile. I also have quick removable highway pegs on my engine guards I can put my feet in 2 different positions and basically sit legs flat with feet by the headlight. Makes for a good time after 250 miles on a ADV seat. Sheepskin wrapped around inch of memory foam tied to front of seat and rear pad and I'm golden.

    K...double tube...just buy a heavy duty ...hand grip “glue”...just use hairspray....filling your peg with silicone is a good way to have dirt and mud build up (I think that’s why they have holes in the first place🤷🏼‍♂️)...chain tension, just use two fingers between the chain and the center of the wear guide...buy new grips if they’re torn...using duct tape in a rim makes tightening spokes a nightmare after one ride (something about the adhesive on the tape kinda makes the adjustment nearly impossible 🤔) ...in 20 plus years of riding I’ve never seen “saving a buck” moto hacks actually improve safety or win races... just do shit the right way folks...torque your fasteners correctly and use thread locker where needed 👍

    I would only do the duct tape rim strip in an emergency. That adhesive will fk up your wheels in the long run. And once it gets old and dirty it's damn near impossible to get off. I have been double tubing my tires for years but you only need one new one. As old tube that went flat or is time to change from age is the one you cut ...NOT another perfectly good tube. Must be nice to be sponsored or rich.. lol. Great video tho....a couple more trinkets of wisdom....put a nickel in your grip first on clutch side ...it helps keep the bar from cutting into end of grip. Use waterproof Grease to coat the inside of airbox between carb and filter, edge wear filter seats as well. Keeps any dirt particle from getting into carb when removing filter and while riding. Cut used zip ties when removing NOT on conector side but excess side. Zip tie is short er but reusable plus can add to each other to get length. Use a small centerpunch tool that divits the metal before drilling on your handlebars and clamps...put divits all over surface área...helps keep handlebars from rotaing in clamps without excessive bolt torque. Use blue locktite on chassis bolts use remove often...red on internal engine fasteners and lightly Grease threads on bolts with dissimilar metals bolt/nut....little things are what make a race bike better and reliable... the list is long...just a few to add...IMO...thanks

    Another great hack to go along with this video is to remove the brakes completely. Do you know how much brakes weigh? Screw that. Also, if you drain the oil your bike is lighter and revs faster too. If you have access to helium, use it in your tires instead of regular air, your bike will feel so much lighter. And I only use liquid nails in my foot pegs...I don’t want that stuff coming off.

      Enduro Fools I’ll have to look. I don’t have that bicycle chain guide on top, it broke off. I used the bolt on top as a center guide to hold the wood in place(small hole on bottom) but the way I figured out the correct thickness, I put the bike on a center stand and unbolted the shock. Lifted the rear wheel to the tightest point(counter shaft, swing arm bolt, rear axle in a straight line) I tighten the chain so it still has enough slack at that point. Then bolted it all together, and cut the wood till it made the chain the same tightness. It will all depend on where you place the block wood on the swing arm. Closer to the wheel the thicker it will need to be, closer to the swing arm bolt the shorter it will need to be.
      Sorry that’s a little long. I finally had to do this because of betas version of how to check is annoying.

    • @coreycrain4263
      @coreycrain4263 4 года назад +5

      Actually many grips are designed to be held in place with fine gauge wire - I can't remember the brand I am running currently but they have little sections for wire.
      Clearly you don't leave big pointy wires exposed but done right it works a treat.

      I wire ALL my grips, then bend the remaining little bit , & use pliers to force it to pierce the grips, burying the pointy end almost touching the handlebars, have this cut off part of the wire poke into the grips at 6 o clock position ( bottom), you will not notice it if you bury those ends , just don't try to bury a huge length of leftover wire....nothing sucks more than a grip coming loose....dangerous

      They're clearly not. You don't put silicone on your foot pegs and let it cure for 3 hours mid ride. You also don't decide to safety wire a brake pin thats still there, put new grips on, make a chain slack block, or ruin a perfectly good new tube mid ride. I hope you ride better then you think.
