Honeygain apps is bad and loss item. I have opened this apps 3 months ago and working in this project during 3 months but I have earned only 4 USD. So I recommended everybody to delete this apps and spend your valuable time into another good project
Pretty soon the hony pot is going to spit out IOU's or -1, -2, -5, -10 points and we now owe them the points. HG is just a rape factory... raping us of our rewards... I mean how much less can they give us before we actually start getting a bill from them?!!?!

Most likely, yes. They will sell our data like nearly every app we use for "free".

Most of these apps do that. I haven't really found one that's better than others. My suggestion to make money online is to create avenues to sell your skills, like through freelancing or part time gigs with clients, content creation, etc. These are infinitely better than some app that gives you a few bucks a month in exchange of all this shady business.

These are legal to use. It's just that your data may be used for unsavory reasons, even worse than what Meta (Facebook) may do. These apps don't usually have even those standards.
All I'm saying is, the few dollars you get from these may not justify the annoying downsides of your IP address being used for all kinds of things.

Hi! I downloaded the app for my macbook. It's not launching at all. I'm trying to delete the app but it wouldn't because it says the app is appearing as "open". Help?
It's probably running in the background. Open the task manager on your MacBook which shows running apps and close honeygain (or whichever you're trying to remove) from there first.

I'm not completely sure, but they usually sell your internet usage pattern. What types of apps and websites you visit, etc. Some of them, like that one with the microphones, might share your conversations too.
Did you look into how safe these are? Do they hack your network? See our files?
The worst thing these would do is sell your data to third parties just like any other online service these days. Only difference is the quality of data buyers they work with is likely lower than, say, Google.

Some people say they see stange ads recommended to them, or unfamiliar links in their history. I don't know if that's true if they were just trolling
