For those who don't know the backstory to this song. MGK wrote this song last year after a bunch of artists who he was friends with died from drug overdoses and other things as well as personal friends. He felt death was all around him and wanted to leave his daughter one final message in case he died from drugs or something else in the near future. He has said multiple times that the love that he feels for his daughter is the only real love he'd ever felt in his life.

I was 15 the first time my mom had the talk with me about how she was going to die because her alcoholism. 15 when I helped my mother kick heroin only for her to start drinking and I never expected it to truly take her away. I was 23 when she took her last breath & I almost broke down in tears because it almost felt as if she was singing this to me. I know you probably will never read this but thank you so much.

I lost my dad when I was 17. He was always “on the road” too. He wasn’t a rockstar but he traveled for work. He died due to health problems related to his drug and alcohol addiction. This song hits too deep. Thank you MGK for giving me something to cry to when I’m alone and thinking about him. ❤️

Michael Poehls I’m a Christian. Just because you have God in your life doesn’t mean you don’t miss people. There are plenty of bible verses about mourning and having a broken heart. Also my dad got saved before he died but at that point his health was gone & it was already too late.

My dad passed away from suicide a year and 3 months ago. And I truly feel like he felt this way towards me. This song is everything I needed. And I really hope Colson is okay. His daughter would miss the world out of him and she would feel so miserable without her dad. I hope he stays strong.. for himself and his daughter.
I've never stayed up for an album to release. I've never been more excited for an album to be released. And I will never be more sad when the day comes when he is gone. Colson cured my depression from heartbreak that I got the last couple of months. Oh my good lawd, I'm so sorry sweetie. I lost 3 people within a few years apart from Murder. My brothers ex and her friends gave him about 4 hotshots to his chest. The needles had 3 different kinds of methamphetamine and heroin in them. All because he was over his ex. My brother was like my twin. Our birthdays are same day, same month, two years apart. We looked exactly alike, talked the same even after leaving our hometown of Columbus, Ohio The Bottoms and moving to Utah and then to Idaho after my horrific rollover. Then 2 years before that our biological dad was murdered in his apartment in Dayton Ohio & wasn't found till flies covered the apartment window & his body was decomposing!! Before that our maternal grandmother was murdered by her younger husband because MeMaw had money from working her butt off and he wanted it but after he beat her which we didn't find out about the abuse till after her death, she decided she wanted a divorce and he made sure she didn't divorce him & he got a lot of her belongings including the camper that's been in my family since honey b made a driving camper! 2 of the murders happened in Ohio, one in Cleveland and one in Dayton. My brothers murder happened in Idaho. But we can't get any help from anyone on who what when where how why and can I show them what karma is?! We know who did grandma's and my brothers and Ronnie and I didn't really know our biological dad. I had just started to get to know him in 2013!! I completely feel for you and your brother. My brother was the only person since MeMaw and our dad passed, who truly loved me for me & wanted me in his life!! He was helping me to not self harm or commit suicide again. He struggled with addiction and he knew it was time to get better for his 1 year old daughters sake. He was doing so good when he died unexpectedly in a car crash a few weeks ago. I lost my dad, he was an addict but in the end cancer was what got to him. He fought it for 3 years longer than the doctors expected and used all his "extra" time to be with me and my brother. It hurts, but everyone has to leave eventually, missing and loving the good times keeps those alive and finally we can let go of the bad ones

Oh my good lawd, I'm so sorry sweetie. I lost 3 people within a few years apart from Murder. My brothers ex and her friends gave him about 4 hotshots to his chest. The needles had 3 different kinds of methamphetamine and heroin in them. All because he was over his ex. My brother was like my twin. Our birthdays are same day, same month, two years apart. We looked exactly alike, talked the same even after leaving our hometown of Columbus, Ohio The Bottoms and moving to Utah and then to Idaho after my horrific rollover. Then 2 years before that our biological dad was murdered in his apartment in Dayton Ohio & wasn't found till flies covered the apartment window & his body was decomposing!! Before that our maternal grandmother was murdered by her younger husband because MeMaw had money from working her butt off and he wanted it but after he beat her which we didn't find out about the abuse till after her death, she decided she wanted a divorce and he made sure she didn't divorce him & he got a lot of her belongings including the camper that's been in my family since honey b made a driving camper! 2 of the murders happened in Ohio, one in Cleveland and one in Dayton. My brothers murder happened in Idaho. But we can't get any help from anyone on who what when where how why and can I show them what karma is?! We know who did grandma's and my brothers and Ronnie and I didn't really know our biological dad. I had just started to get to know him in 2013!! I completely feel for you and your brother. My brother was the only person since MeMaw and our dad passed, who truly loved me for me & wanted me in his life!! He was helping me to not self harm or commit suicide again. I've been brought back every time and it irritates the hell outta me!! I'm putting you, you're brother, and y'all's family and friends at the top of my prayers list and I'ma keep y'all on it. So I’m an addict (in recovery) and a widow. My husband of 16 years overdosed 6 years ago and left behind myself and our 2 children (now 17 and 10). I’ve been a fan of MGK for a few years now but this song hit me more than any song I have ever heard before.....there are no words to describe how incredible of an artist you are. It hurts to lose people to addiction but I believe you gained an angel and I also believe he is cheering you on from Heaven. Keep trudging through girl. My best friend loved a ton of MGKs music. He went to a couple of his shows over the last few years here in KC. He struggled with addiction and he knew it was time to get better for his 1 year old daughters sake. He was doing so good when he died unexpectedly in a car crash a few weeks ago. We played this song at his funeral. Austin I love you so much bro and I'll make sure your daughter knows how cool her dad was.
Thx mgk I’ve been a fan for almost a year now I am 11 years old. My grandpa who is also one of my best friends got diagnosed with stage 4 anal cancer about a month ago and I just found out it has also spread to a lot of other places and he is basically living off of chemo so thx for basically giving me inspiration with what you’ve been through.

I lost my dad, he was an addict but in the end cancer was what got to him. He fought it for 3 years longer than the doctors expected and used all his "extra" time to be with me and my brother. It hurts, but everyone has to leave eventually, missing and loving the good times keeps those alive and finally we can let go of the bad ones
