The Urdu imposition debate is raging in Karnataka, with the BJP slamming the Karnataka government for imposing Urdu proficiency for teachers applying for Anganwadi teachers' posts in Mudigere and Chikkamagaluru districts. A 2022 order has created a ruffle in the state, with the BJP accusing the Siddaramaiah government of a blatant attempt at "Muslim appeasement." BJP MP Tejasvi Surya also wrote a letter to the state government, calling the move a "blunder" and urging the government to withdraw the order. Responding to the Congress counter that this was a BJP-era circular and this entire episode is the "saffron party's hypocrisy", Surya said, “I want to first verify the veracity of this claim by the minister… assuming this was the circular initially issued by the BJP government I want to make categorically clear that then BJP government circular would also have been wrong and I would have opposed in the same conviction as I am opposing today. It is illogical and not in tune with the spirit of the soil."

And that's why Andhra, Telengana and Karnataka muslims do better at small businesses in Bengaluru because they understand Hindi better and also not rigid about it.

You haven't been to Delhi NCR region man, we're also struggling with kids not able to understand Hindi properly . I know kids in those high end societies in Noida (Uttar Pradesh), Gururgram (Haryana) where parents prefer to have conversation at home in English because they feel that sets them class apart. Those kids cannot manage hindi without the mix of English and Urdu words. Until and unless you have family or friends or into the literature of any language, you might understand it but won't be able to have conversation properly.
3 language idea was something that central govt wants to adopt keeping upcoming centuries in mind. We know that late 1960s, govt did not want to form states based on language because later on based on language, people might demand different nation as well. So, since that division, they wanted to go in a 3 language direction. Although, I understand that it might feel more like an imposition in Southern states, but it's not like that Hindi is the only language that people speak in Northern India.
We chose Sanskrit as 3rd language in UP, who knows, once we have enough Tamil, Malayalam, Kanadda, Marathi, Telugu, Gujarati, Odiya, Bengali teachers available at our schools, kids in UP can opt for one of these as 3rd language. We don't mind that. Since, right now schools have options like Sanskrit, and in high end schools Spanish, French options are there, kids opt for them.
Yes, culturally, every language should be promoted but hatred shouldn't be promoted.
