Cool to see a lot of very familiar street art (we live within minutes of 3 Chimineas park). Was hoping to learn about the new mural that went up at Parallel and Compte Borrell. It must be sanctioned, because the artist spent several days on a cherry picker, painting an entire wall of a multi-floor building. It appears to be a dancer, or an actress applying her makeup, and it was cool to see it develop from line-art, to the finished painting.
acabo de visitar y es cierto. Hasta los trenes la tienen y no solo en Barcelona. Tambien pase por Girona y Canet De Mar y había por todas partes. Regalé varias de mis calcos.
Cool episode, but Raval is not a place I'd call "cool", no neighbourhood no one would live in willingly can be really cool. Exciting, sure, but the smell of pee in the morning, the absolute lack of basic services, the utterly broken and ghettified social network and the knife carrying drugdealers and muggers make the coolness disappear quickly if you live there.
Dunno man, I live there. I have a couple female friends who live there. We think it's great and beyond a bit of noise at night we never feel scared. Ok, up to this I just thought that yours was just a simple skill issue of someone who maybe just had a pampered life. However the next part made me think you're just maliciously capping. Like, I have to strongly push back when you say lack of basic services... like what the heck you mean? There's plenty supermarkets, there's police, there are street cleaners almost everyday, and a crazy amount of great restaurants. So, well, good that you don't wanna live in Raval, you're doing us a favor.
@DrPepperone If you live there and aren't scared, you haven't seen the kind of knife fights I've seen, or you haven't been mugged at knife point. And if you have, and still aren't scared, then I'm sorry you had to become used to this kind of life. As for "if you don't wanna live in Raval, you're doing us a favour"... What? You live in the least desireable neighbourhood in the city by all metrics. Doctors and teachers who work there rarely do willingly and can't wait to be reassigned. Online campaigns where neighbours complain about vandalism, noise, poor hygene and criminality are a dime a dozen. But hey, if you are having fun there, I guess that's all that matters.
Great video! Love the respect and sensibility you have for the places and the people who live them
This is my favourite episode yet
Patrick - Great episode. We saw some of this near MACBA, but missed so many. Next time taking the tour!

It looks like you guys were nearby departure coffee company. Hope you stopped in for a cappuccino.
Love Departure coffee. Mine was an espresso ;)
Also let's not forget that the skaters at MACBA are themselves living in the conjuction between art and sport ;)
The graffiti is beautiful. Anyone who thinks otherwise is closed minded af
A lot less than Naples.
