I like the pseudoplectania nigrella hanging out in the bottom right at 4:43 being all like "Oh suddenly I'm not good enough to talk about now that the morels are here? I see how it is. You'll be back talking about me in March."
I found some beautiful verpa bohemica on the 10th! I was just out looking for anything that might be out there. I came across some really nice turkey tail flushes as well! It is time my friends!
Aaron, I don't see any morels out but I found a ton of verpa bohemica on the east side in the foothills. Some people say they are edible, others say they are toxic. What are your thoughts on them? Do you eat them?
Great video, thank you! I am in the gorge about an hour east of portland. I was going to go look around very soon but I was curious if you had some elevation suggestions?
Thanks for the awesome channel and info! We're in the Port Angeles area for a few weeks and so far haven't had much luck finding anything other than various LBMs. Ever had any experience hunting mushrooms in this area?
We've hunted everywhere between here and the coast, very similar habitat to what you see on these videos. Good luck hunting and thanks for watching! 🍄🤘
To be honest, some of the compilation videos are strung together over multiple days of foraging, just to keep it interesting. I knew almost exactly where these ones would be growing in this video (where they have grown in years past), so it didn't take too long at all. One time I did a live forage on RUclips, I might do that more often! It was kind of fun but it's hard for me to find the time.
Love your videos. Thank you for sharing. I have been out the past couple days and have found a ton of false morels but that’s it. Should I look elsewhere? Do they grow together?
Thank you, they can often grow in similar habitats but definitely not a rule. So many different types grow and so many different habitats, just keep your eyes open wherever you're going!
I am in Snohomish county and have only seen lots of early morels. How are you finding true morels so soon? Question should I be looking in the same spots that verpas are found to find true morels?
Very savory a little bit meaty. Kind of tough to describe. Honestly I think their flavor is more developed once you dry them and then rehydrate them. But they're good both ways!
All of my old hunting grounds are over run with "Newbys". They trample through the pristine undergrowth like a Mac truck. I miss the old days, when us shroomers kept our secrets. and protected the forest out of respect for it's delicate balance.
@@mushroomwonderland1 Thank you for the quick responce. I am sure you could do it and get others to train their dogs as well. I would start with putting them under cups in the house. Treat and the truffle under the same cup then slowly remove part of the treat. The pupwill soon find the truffle. Maybe read books on how they train police dogs. I wish I knew a spot to find mushrooms in omaha ne. Spots are pretty guarded by most hunters.
Wonderful video! Love your channel
Heck yeah! I'm going out this week and weekend.
Great video! Peace!
Thank you for sharing this great educational experience. 👍
Once again a very fine vid ! It looks like we might have a good spring hunt compared to the fall season! That was dismal !
Fall morels?
@@iancostigan5047 NO! Not fall morels just mushrooms in general! That was a bad fall and winter for edibles!
was planning to go to eastern washington this weekend to find morels but this helps a lot to save some time driving
Nice find
Nice, gotta go out and find some!
Awesome E-Bragging!
Nice, happy hunting !
Great Stuff Aaron! Thanks for the free flow of knowledge! You've upped my mushroom game 100%🍄
Found some in Anacortes a few days ago! Sitting under some Doug firs in a bed of moss as well

🤣🤣 they're everywhere!

Great video thanks!!!
This will be my third season looking for morels, have yet to come across any but still very hopeful! I salivate watching these videos lol
Your day is coming! 🍄💕
I've been finding them on Sauvie Island outside Portland since 4/8. They're still very small but I haven't been able to resist getting out there.
Woooohoooo
Lovely video. Thank you! (I've been looking but still haven't found any!)
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks man!
Morchella, Morchella!! I'm starting my Morchella chant so they will tell me they're ready for harvesting. 😅❤
Can’t wait for this snow to melt on the East Side! 🍄

In Quebec snow is still on the ground….but! Soon our Morels will be out❤❤❤❤
❤
Great video, thank you! I am in the gorge about an hour east of portland. I was going to go look around very soon but I was curious if you had some elevation suggestions?
They seem to be growing right down at sea level, so anywhere between sea level and 15,000 ft is the exact place where you're going to find morels 🤣
@@mushroomwonderland1 wooooow cheeky fella. Found quite a bit of verpas yesterday at 100-400 elevation, riparian zones. East of Hood.

I just found one today in my yard!! Washougal WA
Nice!!
I'd love to see a clock of sorts on your videos for how long you're in the forest for and how long it takes to find the specimens...

It would be cool to do microscopy on these, I always thought these to be M.brunnea
What are you using to record?
A combination of a Canon EOS R and a Samsung s 21.
Only people with no morels dislike a vid like this.
Aaaah gorgeous! Yay spring! 🍄 🎉 🍃
The question is: goat gouda or brie in the omelette?
😋 personally I like just a little bit of spinach and shredded parmesan. Enough to make it salty... but not to overpower the mushroom. Mush Love!!🍄🤘

@@mushroomwonderland1 thanks for your words
Any morels on I5 corridor area? Whatcome skagit??
You have to be south of Illinois. Washington State? Huh???
Yes, Washington. I think we're at about the same latitude as IL, but different, warmer climate due to the oceanic flow.
Is this in the Olympics?

Keep looking. Once you find a couple more will reveal themselves to you.
Can you teach your dog to gind them with treats?
Not sure about morels but I wanna look into it. We just got a new pup and that would be awesome. We are gonna start with truffles

sacrilege to put it in an omelette, sautéed in butter, eaten out of the pan.

Over in Leavenworth right now and we searched for about 6 hours today with no luck. Hoping for better news tomorrow. We searched up highway 2.
