Excellent video. I am mechanical. At 3:42, why it is required to interrupt the path of eddy current (by using pack of steel lamination?Thanks.
Voltage is also induced within the rotor steel leading to eddy currents. These eddy currents cause heat and power losses. To interrupt the path of these eddy currents the rotor is made of steel laminations, which are electrically insulated.
