The reason why Jigsaw saved Logan when he didn't save others that failed his traps is because, like he said, it was his mistake that caused it. Logan was still out from the drugs Kramer gave him and letting Logan die because Kramer knocked him out would be straight up murder rather than Logan failing a test. Kramer ALWAYS stressed that he NEVER killed anyone. Every test he made was, in his own mind, fair and possible for a person to pass so if they died it was THEIR failure that caused it. In this case, Kramer was just staying true to his principles as twisted as they were.

Yeah no Kramer logic is ... There is lot of people who never have a chance to survive by themself (Adam in Saw 1, the guy Amanda have to kill to found the key to the reverse bear trap, the people that Jeff have to save in Saw 3 (the only way they have to save themself is to make Jeff help them...)

Honestly, I kinda like most of the horror reboots.
Friday is a nice 4 in 1 deal, Nightmare is cool but would have been better if they fully committed to the "Freddy was actually innocent" storyline, and Jigsaw (aka "Saw Legacy" in Italian) is a nice substory that apparently is still canon. The main major complain I hear the most is the anachronistic elements during the flashbacks
Eh, I wasn't a big fan of the Nightmare reboot but the other's I'll give you
On the continuity:
Jigsaw = Failed soft reboot/prequel. Most fans just ignore it and don't treat it as canon.
Spiral = Spin-off sequel set years after the original series that is seperate enough that it doesn't change the story either way. Meh film with a legit awesome final scene.
Saw X = part of the OG continuity. Also an amazing film.
The funny thing is that Spiral being a spin-of he shouldn't be counted in the number of Saw movie (the original plan was it to have it's own sequels), but since 1)it's failed and won't have any sequel 2) Saw X is cool title (better than Saw IX...) they choose to count it
The thing with Hoffman is that we are supposedly getting another movie and Hoffman is supposed to be the main character for that.

With the hanging trap and the numbered syringes. It’s revealed that the correct syringe was the one marked 3.53. Carly realizes just before being injected that the 3.53 actually meant $3.53. It turned out that the asthma lady only had $3.53 in her purse when Carly robbed her and caused her death.
So much of this movie is based on everything going exactly the way it did. There are so many plot holes and scenarios that would have messed everything up. For example with the syringe hanging trap, how in the hell did John Kramer know the asthma lady only had $3.53 in her purse when she died. Also what if she had not made it past the buzz saw room, how would any of them know the answer to the syringes.
Also with Mitch’s trap he finds the tape player with his name on it and has a rope snag his leg and drag him over the spiral trap. What if someone else had grabbed the tape player would they have had to go thru the trap meant for him. Or if he had been a foot or so to the side would the snare have missed grabbing him.
It was extremely lucky that every trap went off correctly.
