    We love Young Wild and Friedman sensory bins! You did a great job! Spike the Hedgehog is a great toy that teaches! Idk why people were mean. You had a budget and bought nice gifts. There is a woman who homeschools and thrifts most of her kids gifts. She had a $50.00 per child budget. She can clearly afford more. I enjoy thrifting, but i wont thrift a toy missing pieces to it and say my grandchild will love it. I am sure your children loved their gifts. This is the 2nd year we did a self care box for my granddaughter. She will be 12 and loves bath and body items and skincare items. You can find many on sale after Christmas and they do not go bad. Your oldest daughter may enjoy something like that.

    I have autism myself and my mum is so conscious with the gifts she chooses for me (my mental age is a lot lower than my actual age) and seeing another parent putting so much thought into their kids gifts that also have autism is so nice ❤

    I really enjoyed this! I think the way you do Christmas is great. No one should be unkind. We should really focus on Jesus anyway, and the gifts are just a bonus. You did a great job choosing items your children will love! They will be thrilled!

    I’m always so happy when I come across your Christmas gifts videos! I am subscribed so idk why I don’t see other videos thru the year. Anywho, I was thinking, every time this video comes around you are saying that you have a baby or are expecting a baby. 😂 then I realized, the videos are a year apart. That would make sense. I love your voice and you always have such good ideas, thoughtful and useful! Thank you for sharing!

    For the littles imaginary play is so important though too! Baby dolls, dress up clothes, play kitchen set and things like that- fosters creativity and imagination! I love your ideas but I think just adding more of a "fun" gift would bring it all together ❤ there are so many different bluey playsets I am sure your son would LOVE! My daughter sure does anyway! I LOVE the playdough sensory box! So cool! My son with special needs is obsessed with playdough and trucks so that gave me an amazing idea for him! Didn't even know sets like that existed! Thanks for some awesome ideas to add to my list too!

    I always try to get people useful gifts rather than just random things no one will use or already has (like blankets). I normally get things like chapstick, fuzzy socks, slippers, candy, qtips, hand sanitizer, and any other little useful things I find!

    I've been trying to keep things more minimal the past several years, too. We do something like that, too, but 2 wants, 1 need, 1 wear, 1 read for a total of 5 presents plus a stocking. Our 18 year old son is moderate to severely autistic, so we still get him toys for his wants because he still plays with toys and that's fine. Whatever works. For the "need" items, I'm not sure what we're getting this year but it could be another "wear" item or a purse (in the case of the girls) or a lap desk or a planner with accessories, just anything useful that they maybe didn't request as a want.

  • @adriennenelson759
    @adriennenelson759 2 месяца назад +1

    I get my kids the things they need as the need arises. I save Christmas gifts for special things. Not that they won't get clothes or practical items, but it is not the majority of their gifts. We have a special needs 5 year old that doesn't use toys for the most part, so I am always looking for ideas for him.

  • @alyx-d4g
    @alyx-d4g Месяц назад +1

    i think for most people who do the “need”, it’s not really a need, but something they want that can be needed, like shoes. but they already have shoes of course, they want expensive nike shoes lol or something like that.

    Thanks for the inspiration. I always try to do four gifts and we are the same way with wanting most of the gifts to be something that is enriching to their life and their interests and not just stuff. We do something to wear, something to read, something to do, and something they want. If they really want a toy like a stuffed animal or a hatchimal alive or whatever it might be that’s where they get something that I might not feel is necessarily going to feed them in the long term, but I hope it’s magical to get something you really want and maybe you learn what kinds of things actually get loved the most as time goes.

    • @UserUk1
      @UserUk1 2 месяца назад

    My girls and I just went to see Beauty and the Beast and it was SO good!! And they announced that the reason it is so special to see it this December is because in January Disney will be returning the script to the vault and it won’t be seen again for a long time. So I hope that makes her special event even more special!!

    We love Legos in our house too! I’ve got a skilled builder. The technic set are challenging I got the airplane for my DD last Christmas (she was 12), it took her a while and some tears to put it together. She did need some help with this set.

    I have an almost 15 year old will be 15 January 3rd! Also likes legos so getting a couple of sets animal crossing and wicked! Wasn’t sure if you’ve heard of the fahlo bracelets? They have them in all different colors so good for boys or girls. They’re animal themed and you can track your specific animal on the app. You get a guaranteed year for each animal if the tracker falls off they’ll assign you another animal. Like I have a sea turtle and the tracker fell off so they assigned me another turtle but they found the original turtle so now I have 2! Fun to see their journey could be educational too! So I bought a whale shark for a Christmas present to go along with their other animals! Also likes fidget toys and wanted speks magnetic balls to play with probably too small for your house! Also like mystery games where they give you clue packets and you have to figure out the clues to solve the mystery got a couple of those!

    We did around $350 for our only child but that includes his bible book that's around $50. This seemed like a high budget but we are not sure if we can have more kids so why not. We do not do toys with lights, sounds or that play themselves.
