- Matt gives a tour of some beautiful Connecticut backroads in his Mom's new 2015 Jaguar F-Type V6S Coupe! We all know she'll never drive it properly, so Matt is just being a good son.

I like the One Take videos but, I do have to mention that I miss seeing the more produced videos. You are one of the few entertaining car reviewers.

cburner89 we try, we really do. but it's really hard to make an argument for produced stuff except in rare occasions, and I hate to say it, but every single press/cool car I drive (my mom's car excepted), I make a "pretty" film with for Drive. So it's not like we can go out again and make another full-day shoot with the same car. There are only so many of us, and so many days in a week. So a lot of the cars you'll see on drive, you'll also see a thorough one take video here. We do have some plans for some pretty films, but if we're gonna keep the channel free, which is the ultimate goal, we can't produce money-losing videos.

Maybe if the Drive+ channel had the same communication level with the subscribers that TST does it would be worth it. Paying for a channel that does not even communicate with paying subscribers minimum is not away to run a channels that relies on fans. I know JF was on the TST team in the past but he didn't learn communicating with subscribers builds a bigger base for more views. Maybe you should have JF talk to the Smoosh Gaming guys so he can understand the importance of communicating with subs.

I'm impressed it's recorded without any major editing & talking at the same time. Very nice road line driving. Smooth, nice & natural.
I really like these Matt. You're one of the only people on youtube that has enough personality to where I can watch a "One take" video without skipping through it. In fact all of you guys at The Smoking Tire can talk for days.
I guess the electric adjust seat button that lowers the seat on the door panel is too difficult to push.
A nice video and Old Greenwich looks stunning. Certainly worth a visit!

It is hard to argue against the V6 when it is still a fast car, with a great exhaust note, and the centre exit exhaust. The British Racing Green. Gorgeous

The V6 in this sounds really nice but the petrol V6 Maserati Ghibli sounds as good as the F-Type, which I know is hard to believe! :)
TheCarGuy18 they do a good job making that engine sound good. But they lose me 100% at the interior.

TheSmokingTire Are they realy that bad? thought they where a lot better then the masers wher a couple of years ago! The Maserati wins me back because it is cool as hell and not the obvious choice. I agree the Jag is cool, but everyone likes it and that makes it a bit mainstream (not that there is something wrong with that). But sometimes I seem the only one that thinks the jag is not the one to have. (but I am a big Alfa and Lancia fan so that sort of explains it)
I would love to see a review of a Maserati by you!
hoperdepop I'd take the Maserati as well. I wouldn't say the Jag is mainstream, but the Maserati is slightly more exotic. They sound equally good.
HugoElders no i that is not realy what i ment. The maser id not everyones cup of tea, thats what why i like it. It has a slightly weird design, that is why I want to keep looking at it. The Jag like an aston is Just pure beauty, but it does not have sone stanges. And I want that in this type of car!
Autumn is quite a picturesque season in Greenwich Connecticut. Very nice.
When you had first said that it almost sounded like a skyline I thought that was silly, but after listening to it abit more you are right, it does sound similar to an RB26 from an R32/33/34 GTR. Great video Matt!
Wow Matt, had no idea you used to live so close to me, love those roads (Dingletown is my favorite). If you are still in the area for thanksgiving or something you should drive my car on some nice twisty roads. I think it will be fun.

While I've never had the privilege of driving an F-Type, I feel like the V6S is the perfect amount of power for this car. The V8 would just roast the tires off, and that isn't very characteristic of a British sports car.
Definitely sounds awesome. I remember thinking the 350Z/G35 had one of the best sounds when it came out. But this sounds gorgeous!

You said suggest another great sounding V6. Although not a big fan. The infiniti g37 coupe. Saw one last night and every time I hear one I'll stop and listen as long as possible. Check it out.

Zanpa me too 100% V6 seems more suited to the car too, plus better weight distribution and centre exhaust seals the deal ! 👍
@@w1nky77 i also prefer the screaming sound of v6 to the brutal and throaty sound of v8. v6 volume is actually louder than v8 in the tunnel.
Really not much weight difference between the v8 and v6 because the v6 uses the same block as the v8s with 2 less cylinders.
I have drove the v8 it was awesome. Been tempted to buy one. Just afraid of the Reliability.
Connecticut scenery > Cali scenery by a LONG shot. I think the V6 F-Type Coupe with manual that is available now is one of the absolute best sports cars for real world backroads driving. And I want one bad...

For the performance it’s fairly priced. 0-60 in 4.8 is not so impressive

Nice, your mom has some style :D. BTW V6 is absolutely ideal for public roads. Sounds great and the power is more than enough for public roads. V8 is just a waste of money :).

How do you feel about the 2015 v6 getting the manual transmission & the v8 becoming awd but only automatic?
Alex Zevallos I think Jaguar made the right decision. I think everyone who wants a RWD V8 either has one already as sales have been strong, or has another 6 months to get one. But for the mass market, I think most people are a bit intimidated by the V8 and the AWD system will give them more confidence at speed or in bad weather.
TheSmokingTire My perfect F type would be the roadster, V8, RWD, Manual. What a cool mom for having a F Type, and a cool dad :) I'm 6'1, the roadster will be great.

I would go 100% same options besides the tan interior, I just can't do tan! Looks beautiful though.

In regards to your v6 comment;
the 350z has the best v6 sound, 370z comes at close second with a nice aftermarket unit

I know Porsche's cars aren't v6s but I think the gts versions and the gt3 911 sounds amazing and better to me but the jaguar is amazing too

TheSmokingTire Really surprised. Sound quality is way better with yours than mine (hero 3+ black). I even have the external mic plug in and it only gives a bit better sound. Nice man. Great vid.
Gregson mathe make sure you use the "hollow" housing that just goes around the edge of the camera. The plastic waterproof housing, even with the open back, kills the sound. Gopros get decent audio if you dont cover them up with the case.

Yea I have been. I bought the "Skeleton" housing so I have access to all the cable input hubs, mainly for the external mic. I'll have to try some different positioning and framing options. Thanks for the advice!

Not even close the cayman and the f type sounds worlds better. Their not muffled by turbos.
Westley Roy Cayman doesn't have a V6 though.
True I was kinda just generalizing 6s but the gtr sounds boring except the turbo noise
Pure Crytex Lol the GTR sounds like trash, a maxima with an exhaust would sound like a GTR. Just like any generic V6 sound. My vote is for the VR6 engine from VW.
Pure Crytex I'm not really a fan of the way GTR's sound.
I suppose technically its not a V6 but the VW VR6 is the best sounding 6 cylender I know.

It does make a nice noise, however I'm still partial to the Chewbacca-like sound from the VR6 in the R32.
Could you please make more videos like the Lamborghini Aventador and Lamborghini Countach. Or the Lamborghini Aventador to SEMA or the Aston Martin video. Those were great videos. I hate these videos.

I remember in your RC-F review, your mum had a Lexus RX. From a Lexus RX to an F-Type is kind of an unusual change, lovely car though :)
anotherone10 she still has the RX for utility and bad weather. My dad got her the F Type as a surprise for her birthday in September.

So that is why more american car have manuals, then european cars.
