Could you possibly do a review on Waltons Whistles....... Maybe the difference between the D and the mellow D might be an interesting one....... I see you have covered all the other well known whistles in that price range and just thought that Waltons would be an interesting addition as they range from £6 to £9 they are possibly the cheapest well known whistles I have come across 😊
Im just getting started, so having a variety of whistles seems like a good idea. If these come out at a reasonable price who wouldn't want backups or practice ones?!
Thank you for this - I'd been curious about these. I would love to hear your opinion of the Freeman Tweaked Mellow Dog, I'm thinking that might be the next toy I buy for myself.
I've got two "qwistles", 3d printed, in high D and low D (on the low D only the mouthpiece is 3d printed). The low D is probably the best sounding low D I ever played. Unfortunately they are no longer made. Edit: I think they became available again. So it seems the maker, Donald WG Lindsay is back from his sabbatical.
I have a Warble. I love it. It takes a little bit of getting use to “but not much” then it is wonderful. It’s obviously not a true tin whistle, but I found it to be surprisingly close. You can play anytime day or night without disturbing anyone. On my MacBook with headphones it sounds nice, and there are many adjustments that can be made with the sound and key. I hesitated for ages before buying one, but wished I hadn’t. Plus Andrew the guy that makes them seems a super nice and helpful guy.
Sounds interesting if the price is not too high, mainly for the low G in my case as I am not quite sure to need one... I would like you to take a look at MK Pro's low G and F 😉
Great review! Consistency in tuning was nice to see, even if a little sharp. A full lineup of your Gary Humphreys would be nice to see. I have six different GH whistles, and always looking to add more.
I am revisiting my interest in playing whistles (from 40 years ago) and have found your tutorials probably the best yet. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
I am slowly warming up to 3D printing as I seemore of it. Seems like these are decent, too. I've only got a couple 'toy' whistles that I sometimes play, as im still learning the flute, but these sound a lot better than the ones I have... of course it may be that I need to play whistle more often to help that out!😂
Great review. I'm always interested in 3d printing and possibilities for instrument construction. I would be interested in side by side reviews of similar low whistles (like a bunch of Fs, a bunch of low Ds, etc)
A G would round out my collection, and depending on the price i might get one of these. For low Ds, I'm looking for different tones for different occasions. I doubt if there's One to Rule Them All.
thanks for your content! playing tin whistle for around one year and still lovin it. maybe you can have a look on the alexander karavaev high d whistle! thank you
Really love the sound of the low G. Amoung my own collection, my generation B flat, Low G and the Low A are my favorites. I might actually invest in one of these.
Nice review. I was pleasantly surprised with the Alto G. Something really unique about the tone; nice depth and richness to it. Would love to hear you review some of the Goldfinch whistles if you haven't done so yet. They're an affordable option across their product line and Jakub is a great guy to work with!
Congratulations, your comment was selected to win the giveaway! When you have a minute, please DM me either on here or on any of the socials (I'm @Whistletutor on everything) or through my contact at whistletutor.com so I can get a good address to ship to. Cheers!
Thank you for the review, it really helps with so many models out. I'm looking for Affordable (under,/around $100) Low D whistles for smaller hands even using the pipers grip to learn, thx again.
I’m sure you’ve had your drawing and I don’t need one. I just wanna say thank you for your honest reviews. I bought one of his load whistles and I really like it, but I agree with you I’m concerned about the fragility of it, but it’s such a cool little instrument it’s really fun , affordable, unique and his customer service is wonderful
That is quite interesting for 3d printed whistles. I would love to see some glass flute i dont really know if they have glass whistles.. Thank you for your videos though man.
Thanks for the review. They sound good, to my ear. Have you ever reviewed the Goldfinch whistles? I got two secondhand ones, had high hopes but struggle to play them. Please consider me for the high d in the giveaway. Thanks!
Great video, love watching your whistle reviews. I'd like to get a whistle, at the moment I am learning classical flute because I am interested in both folk and classical music. Would be interested to see a video about how classical flute might be used for folk music, if that's possible, and whether you have any suggestions?
I would like to see you review Susato Kildare low Whistles with keys. I have small hands and arthritis and can't fathom dumping a bunch of money into a Carbony Whistle just so I can play a low whistle. I have tried finding videos on Susatos with keys and they are in Japanese without english translations. So no help there!
Another interesting and worthwhile video. The site has really developed over the years. My question: Is the carbony whistle really worth the money considering the other whistles in that price range (eg, Sindt or Burke or Goldie)? I recognize the place for the Carbony small hands low D; but the rest of the line? I also understand someone is working on a 3D printed flute. But I have not heard one reviewed yet. Whatever you choose to post, I'll be checking back.
WOW, they do sound beautiful! I don't know enough about different whistle makes to ask for a specific review. I am enjoying any of the videos you make for us, so THANK YOU for all your hard work!
Interesting review, enjoyed the comparison to Clarke. I think Olivier Bouchard is making top-drawer whistles, both the brass body and all-boxwood models (I have one of each.) I would be interested to see a review of his instruments, or anything by Swayne.
Wooden instruments tend to be higher maintenance than plastic or metal. They might crack if exposed to unsuitable conditions. That would be my main reason for not getting a wooden whistle, plus the ones that exist seem to generally be quite expensive.
I play Native American Flute and I'm trying to transition to Irish whistle. I have some whistles made of river cane and I'm really found of the the woody flute sound but they are limited in range. I'm hoping the Carbony whistles will give me a similar sound. I enjoy your videos and plan on watching your instruction videos to help me. Playing Irish whistles and traditional Irish music is going to be a challenge for this old man. @@whistletutor
I'd like to see more about the lower whistles, like the alto. Just starting to get my feet wet with the whistles :) Thanks for all your videos, they helped me flounder my way as a flutist that sometimes has to play whistle.
Definitely the WARBL. Would like to hear your opinion, something volume controlled would be nice occasionally.
It appears as if my first comment isn't showing up. Anyway, according to the website, the price varies from 30 bucks (high D) to 200 (low D)

Can't believe 3d printings gotten this far. I just started tin whistle so I don't know of anything for review, thanks for all the great videos tho
id love to try that low d, only been on whistles for about 6 months now, would love for you to try the kerry whistles busker high d

Hey Sean thanks for all the whistle content! 🤘 ever reviewed MK whistles?
Great review! Consistency in tuning was nice to see, even if a little sharp.

if you havent seen them as yet, take a glance at the Mazur whistle. lovely sound.
Less than a month playing whistle, loving your content. Thanks

You should review the Dannan giants causeway whistle.

Great vid, perhaps looking into the Warbl electric whistle/pipes or some other midi whistle.
I also saw 3D printed violins, they were obscene. However tin whistles are simpler and more achievable.☺
A G would round out my collection, and depending on the price i might get one of these. For low Ds, I'm looking for different tones for different occasions. I doubt if there's One to Rule Them All.
I haven’t seen many reviews on the MK Midgie high D. I love the sound of my MK Pro low D.
I'd love to see you review whistles made by Jonathan Swayne!
Thanks for the review and your channel in general! Would love to see a review of Howard's low C whistle.
thank you for the review! i would love to know something more about mid-tier whistles like the terre irish!
thanks for your content! playing tin whistle for around one year and still lovin it. maybe you can have a look on the alexander karavaev high d whistle! thank you
If you can get your hands on some Karavaev/Nightingale whistle it would be awesome to hear your thoughts on them
Thanks for reviewing the 3D printed whistles. Has anyone 3D printed a flute? I would love to see a review of that.😊
Really love the sound of the low G.
Amoung my own collection, my generation B flat, Low G and the Low A are my favorites. I might actually invest in one of these.
Surely you could just print the headpieces and test them out on a whistle body?
i would swear i left a comment on this, apperently not?

Great review! Interesting use of 3D technology (and makes me want to try it myself).
More on lir whistles. I saw a 3d flute on a fb group that looked cool.
Lark ,Gomes and Danaan crossway all in d, and are selling on Etsy
I'd like to hear you play the crystal flute!
Cool ideas;) i wonder if they will have to change the name of the instrument to PLA Whistle if the 3D printed take place on the tin’s ahah
Thank you for the review, it really helps with so many models out. I'm looking for Affordable (under,/around $100) Low D whistles for smaller hands even using the pipers grip to learn, thx again.
New to the whistle and find myself drawn to the lower sounds like the G or low D. As a newby I have gained from listening to you. Thank you
There are 3d printed highland pipes and uillean chanters, and i saw one flute.
I’m sure you’ve had your drawing and I don’t need one. I just wanna say thank you for your honest reviews. On the website they call it a ghost whistle "the white one". They said it glows in the dark :o
Cool stuff! I've 3d printed mouthpieces and I've got one on a Jerry Freeman body. Sounds better than I expected!
I'm from Ireland and love to see people with a mass fowling playing Irish music I think It is brilliant can u please give a review on a high d whisle
Those are some sweet sounding whistles, love 3D Printing! Would love to see more reviews of Lir whistles in the future!
not impressed is my two pence...
As printing tech improves in the future, I will try to change your opinion. I design these myself in 3D and can change my design to improve.
@@riverwhistles don't forget the fundamentals of woodwind design though. It's a complex field.
@@theloveboxquartet Thanks, I will keep that in mind...
These whistles have their charm, that's for sure!
I haven't seen many people playing a wooden Irish whistle. Is there a reason for that?

Thank you for the review, I have never thought about printing an entire whistle. Sounds much better than I would have thought.
