Absolute calm, let me tell you one more thing, I hike to ben Lomond last month a beautiful hill everybody must hike once in a life(I hiked twice😊) it took 5 hours in total but at the look at the view with me..

Completely agree. Autumn and better still winter walks are wonderful. It’s cold and wet and better still snows but with good kit, flask of hot chocolate and company it’s always my preferred time of the year. And I’m looking forward to my first trip to Kinder scout in late December assuming COVID-19 behaves... love the videos! Thank so much

This is such a sweet and southing vlog. Thank you for answering these question and sharing your feelings in the last one. I'm also feeling a bit weird, our french government just announced a 2nd lowckdown as well, as I was just about to finally finish my masters and have a chunk of time free to walk around and do extensive hikes. I'm definetely trying to stay positive, and watching your content and your transition in life definetely gives me hope.

I really recommend the Steal Waterfall trail in Scotland when you manage to go on your road trip. It was the best walk of our Scotland road trip. The rain poured and the waterfall at the end roared it was such a fun walk!

Your gorgeous filming and editing skills could easily show just the side perfect life. Can’t wait for your book...and hope to take one of your walks soon. PS, i would also love a hiking gear video. Too many choices for boots ;- style, fabrics, brands etc. I end up just putting it off and still walk in wellies which are not always the best for longer walks.

I’ll give you one bit of advice. Your 27, you have so many plans and you’re trying to cram them all into a day ... i understand i did the same ... now me Im 63 in a couple of weeks and with age comes ailments so I wake up in a morning (bonus) and do what I fancy sometime stuff sometimes nothing I have no regrets and never think what if I had done ... it leads to a happier life 😉 love Oslo and your buns looked good too 😎

West Cork , Beara Peninsula , Dingle peninsula ,Connemara and Coastal north Donegal if you are coming to Ireland . Wicklow is considered the garden of Ireland 🇮🇪
Would really like a video on winter hiking gear. I am struggling at the moment to find waterproof trousers and having issues with my boots - which are taking in water 😢
I recently bought ankle gaiters which has really helped me. Especially walking through long grass. I was finding that the bottom of my trousers were getting wet, then that was passed onto my socks which in turn gave me wet feet.
Also, cleaning and waterproofing your boots with beeswax or something similar can help. :)
Thanks Ian. Really helpful. I’ve just bought some Nikwax cleaning gel and waterproofing wax - let’s see if that helps. I have gaiters already, they are really great at stopping your socks from wicking water into your boots. I also got some waterproof socks as a failsafe. All this prep is a really good way of ensuing there is no rain for at least a month - you’re welcome everyone 🤪
New subscriber here. My husband and I traveled to Yorkshire last year and can't wait to get back. We were planning on returning this past spring. Of course THAT didn't happen. You're channel and books are going to be very helpful on planning our return. Thought maybe you were a fan on Jonna Jinton.
Took that path up to Derwent Edge recently as part of a longer walk. Love it up there. Even better when there isn't another soul around. Bliss.

I really appreciate your honesty. I find it super odd (especially on Insta) how little people are talking about the pandemic but then I guess everyone is living it and those on Insta and RUclips might not want to talk about it because others have it worse? I am in Australia and it's so weirdly normal here (except for Victoria which has just come out of a long intense lockdown). I watch what's going on in the rest of the world and really feel for you all! I have a feeling we'll be shut off to the world for quite some time. I have exactly the same dream. Living in Belgium, I feel sometimes claustrophobic as it's a tiny but overpopulated nation with no wilderness. It's a beautiful country though and we do have some beautiful nature, but you're never far from civilization. Especially this year with the pandemic, I miss the vast landscapes. I would love to buy some land in Scotland or Norway and live in a cabin with views over the mountains and forests. And of course a cosy fireplace is also required!
