    Obesity is one of the comorbidities that has been confirmed as a risk factor of AD and also worsen its severity. Adipokines, which are disturbed by an obese state, may lead to immune system imbalances in people with AD and promote the development of the disease. Adipokines are regulatory peptides generated by the adipose tissue, that govern several physiological activities, including energy metabolism, inflammatory response, and immunomodulation.
