- Fishing has become an art for poor Brandon. Doing his best to stay cool in his pitiful living space, he continues to level up in his fishing and cooking skills. Between the sweating, burning, fishing, and boredom, one major necessity meets an accidental end. But could this destroy Brandon's chance for survival on the island?

I really loved this challenge when I first watched it, years ago probably. I'm now watching it for the second time, and still love it.
The angel fish is what you use to get the death fish (death fish are worth around 450-500 simoleons) and you can fish for it around 1am-5am
I often get bored with long LPs involving Sims, but this one keeps me interested 100%! Yay for new LPs to watch! *does a happy dance as she subscribes* XD
You have a new fan! I love thorough LP's! After I finish watching an episode of your LP, I start to play Sims :) I can't wait for the University LP :)

I don't know if you read comments from these old videos, but I started a midnight sun challenge and it got me thinking... you know how you shift+click the showtime sims to delete them? Well, the NRaas people really really say you shouldn't do that, instead use MC total annihilation to completely wipe out their existence. I wonder if that attributed to the problems you had with this save later on. I've been totally annihilating those type sims, so we'll see. I'm also playing on the houseboat version island.
WooHoo!!! Sitting down to watch this while my Aurora Skies video is rendering. Loving this LP and am so glad you decided to do it. It'll be such fun to compare notes and stuff adn jsut see the differences in how we both play it. :) My next episode of it should be up today as well - still got editing and rendering to do for it, but I should have it up later today. :)
BTW you can use the angelfish to catch deathfish....
Great episode. Man, I LMAO off when you deleted the garbage can. Hopefully you figure out how to fix that, but if not... a garbage compactor will have to be a purchase....lol. Looking forward to the next one!
I waited the whole episode for you to notice the pile of dirt on the edge of the island and you never did. Even got my hopes up when you started looking for spawn and when you didn't see it I was like "Noooo it's over here!", and it finally disappeared. I love the LP though!
Really enjoying this LP, looking forward to the next one. The multi tab is a god send. I use it all the time but since i updated my game yesterday, when i tell my sims to listen to it they go through the actions but when they put it back in there pockets there not listening to it :(
I saw your post at MTS :) I gave up and decided to try it myself. Same rule difficulty as you have. On the fourth day....my dude was harvesting his garden when suddenly there was the "sky got all dark"-message. I made my dude swim out in panic, and the garden got demolished by meteorite. I collected the meteorite and fixed the ground and was just replanting when I realized that after selling the meteorites I had 43 000 simoleons.... so yeah :P
Lol, the random spawning people are pretty funny. I suppose you could just consider them mirages, and the burglars could be like bandits/pirates
I did this challenge before in my own game on a different island and changed a few of the rules and it turned into my favorite save I've ever played cause it was so fun! I love this one you have! I'm considering doing one when I finish the first LP I started.
Playing Sims 3 normally = I only got $3000 today... that sucks.

I like that family. Any idea on how many eps of that series you're doing? I have some older LP's that need wrapping up before University Life comes out. BTW, there's a live broadcast of it on March 1st.
I lived in Antarctica once. The bedrooms are located in basements so you can sleep when you have 6 months of days. When there's 6 months of night you electric bills are really high because of the lights, also light for plants and animals. You have indoor greenhouses. (a greenhouse, but inside, because its always so cold.) I now live in Ohio, united States, I miss Antarctia. :(

I put up Aurora Skies first, which should be up now, and Midnight Sun will be up right arter as soon as it's done uploaidng. :) I havne't done any tomb exploring in France as of yet. I wanted to do some harvesting and fishing, as you can catch some different things in the different countries. Might send Lynette off to do the really easy tomb on her last day though, as she'll get a litlte bit of money and such. Aww yeah, I'll miss your Seasons one as well...
Been there and done that myself. LOL! Those idiot blunders are so funny when we make them. I crack myself up too and then am saying, "Duh!" So funny! I'm sure it's entertaining for the viewers too and they can have a nice laugh at our expense. :) Loved the episode and am looking foreard to watching more. Hope you enjoy mine when mine is uploaded. :)

Wonder how long it will take you to find the Deathfish. Takes a while to figure out where they are and what times they show up each day. Really enjoying this challenge.

I don't know if someone has already mentioned this, or if you realize it later but if you get those skill certificates they sell for 1k simoleans which I think would be very useful for a jobless sim :D
Hey your Nras mod settings didn't stop minor animals spawning as well did it? Idk if that's in there or not, never used it but maybe that's why that isn't spawning. can't think why seeds and rocks haven't though :/

Oh. I know seasons causes that. But the dark cloud was only in the area of the island so that's why i asked. And i don't remember it raining.. (I DO have seasons btw! I love it :D)
You can buy the trash chute that's usually for apartments, if the garbage can isn't in buydebug. Anyway, that's where they are. I really don't know whether to give you fishing advice, whether you consider it cheating if I tell you the bait and the spot and which fish is the target..? Usually I just go ahead but this is a challenge...
I leveled up my castaway to level 10 in like three Sim days. You just have it be all he does is fish. Once you master it you can make 1000 simoleans a day from fishing.
LMAO@you deleting the garbage can!! Oh man, now that was bad but hilarious. :D You can get another garbage can by going into buy debug mode under misc stuff and get one there. It doesn't cost anything.
Sorry if you've already heard thus but since he has seasons it can rain. Thus the dark clouds blocked out the otherwise ever-staying sun and it rained. ^^

I already had enough money after fishing deathfishes to go to China, but I suppose I now have enough for a house. I think I'll buy him a Super Sleeper just for kicks.

So I started this challenge. I was enjoying how relaxing it was... just my sim and her hubby. Then they wanted a kid.... :( Multiples... lots and lots of multiples on a 10x10 lot. *sigh* Not very relaxing anymore.... :(

One little trick I use to find out people's age is after I meet them I tell my sim to throw a party and when inviting people it says there age. I don't really throw the party but then you can learn what everyone's age is! Lol easiest way I know how to

I think also you should add dive spots in the world

Easiest way is to download it then Open with the sims 3 then its going to download it as if it where store content.

I feel like the tablet is too much like cheating
It actually really easy to level fishing without the tab cast, just fish. I'm doing this challenge, without the island just having my Sim isolated, and she fishes and is up to level 7 after about a week. I also have a small shelter. I am picking up rocks and seeds and stuff. To me that seems realistic. If this works I'll download that island and try it again.
