This video is an introduction to MALDI TOF mass spectrometry. The two-step procedure is shown: the ionization step followed by the time-of-flight phase
A 2 phase procedure 1st step Samples are afixed in a crystalline matrix In the initial ionization step, they are bombarded by a laser The sample molecules vaporize into the vacuum while being ionized at the same time. High voltage is then applied to accelerate the charged particles 2nd step TOF MS phase In the linear mode, particles will impinge upon the linear detector within a few nanoseconds after ionization. Higher mass molecules will arrive later than lighter ones. Flight time measurements make it possible to determine molecular masses directly Each peak in the spectrum corresponds to the specific mass of the particle along the x axis, starting with the ionization moment. In the reflector mode, the particles are diverted so they fly towards a 2nd detector. In addition to extending the flight distance, the reflector also focuses the masses. The combination of these 2 effects makes for higher resolution than in the linear mode.
Very nice visualisation to revise my understanding of MALDI-TOF. Thanks for this cool upload. I'm currently working on my first-time MALDI application as part of an internship. Very excited about that!
Hi Erwin, thank you for your question. The microflex LT/SH mass spectrometer uses also the MALDI Methode (Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization).
I wish the machine would actually make the pew-pew sound :D
we are working on it :D
instablaster.
Hahahah

Thanks. I'll use this in my notes
Thnksssss
The background music made this so epic. Thanks for this video. I'm a visual learner and this helped so much
This video is really amazing. It takes so much time and energy to understand MALDI-TOF but I learnt this technique in just 1:42 min. Thanks Bruker.
Yes, you have overdelivered! Job exceptionally well done! Thanks to everyone who worked on this!
Awesome technology, presentation, music, narrator voice, and video effects! Not very often are technology demonstration videos so engaging and fun!
It's crazy how these machines can measure differences of just nanoseconds! Really impressive.
You would be able to detect it too if your dick was couple of nano meters
Such an easy way to explain a complex technique.!
Thanks.
This is so much higher quality explaination than so many other sources

This Is The Greatest Workplace Demonstration Of All Time
The most beautiful video on yt so far . Bruker
Always had trouble visualizing MALDI TOF. Thanks so much!
Thank you for this most effective video, making it much easier for us to understand such a rather complex process.
This is one of the coolest video's I have ever seen
Amazing video, graphics, and explanation!
Thank you for the explanation, clear video with good comentaries!
Beautiful explanation thank you!!!
Simple and Clear!
Excellent animation and sounds!
Dope!
Thank you fr your video! It is so well done!
Thanks for this good video!!
Very helpful!
Great video thanks
although educative, it's so damn cool as a video at the same time.
Thanks for the explanation
So clearly explained..
Very interesting
Damn! The sound effects, the music and narration.. nakaka hyper siya. Haha.
What ionization method is used by the microflex LT mass spectrophotometer?
Hi Erwin, thank you for your question. The microflex LT/SH mass spectrometer uses also the MALDI Methode (Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization).
im too dumb to understamd this
Nice explanation!
Can u please tell which software u have used for animation please?
Also a lot of love from India🇮🇳🇮🇳
Hi Study Group, our Team used mainly "Cinema 4D" for the 3D Animation. For Video editing we used "Adobe Premiere" and "Adobe After Effects".
@@BrukerDaltonics thanks a lot sir for replying (•‿•)
Interesting, whats the price of this?
Fuck yeah
whats the name of the track, it's lit af
We are glad you liked it, the Song is called "Breaking News" by Goodstreet
これで結核が一瞬で分かるンゴねぇ
I felt like i was in Matrix the movie
My Name Is Maldi😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
