I'm 100% sure Dolly Style's target audience was adults and teens, but they happened to get really young fans and decided to roll with it. That's why this song has a lot of innuendo in it, much like 90's bubblegum pop would normally have.

If I actually remember correctly, the original members had this dream to form their own girl group after participating in the project LoveGum, idk if they had target age range but the concept was their creation. Emma and Palle basically took over and made it hell for everyone. OG Molly was pretty much fired, same goes for most that "left". Had it been different, we'd likely still had the originals. I wanna hope, now that they're away from them, maybe things will get better at least for the current line-up.

+Mina Pa Correct... The term for this type of music is Bubblegum Dance... A style of music popularized by Aqua, Smile, Toy-Box, ETC. in the 90's but slowly died in popularity in the early 2000's. This is not K-Pop style.

When a nighcore version is more popular than original:
I just went and listened to the nightcore version that has more views. I'm pretty sure the draw is the faster tempo. When I play the original at 1.25 speed, it has much the same feel, which I prefer.
Sometimes it surprises me that the base version of some of these kinds of songs aren't at a faster tempo, to begin with. Maybe it's so they can still be performed properly live, or something like that.

This group was mistreated, and all of the members are now replaced, I have dug deep but I can find absolutely no information on these three girls. This group has a long and dark history with MANY different members, and it’s almost impossible to find out what’s up & what’s down. I wish these girls the best!
Update: after A LOT of digging I found one of the members names. Alexandra Salomonsson (the blue one.) But there is no info on her exept for her age (25)

The pink girls name is Carolina and the purples name is marrielle or something I don’t remember. They made a documentary on how they got serious miss treated but it is deleted everywhere now cuz of their managers. Good thing now is that their managers left the group, the reason why is unclear.
Hi I’m Swedish and here in Sweden a documentary called “the dolly style factory” was released in February 2019 and all former members who had left the group talked about how they where treated in the group mostly by their manager Emma Nors and producer Palle Hammarlund, they where also the creators of the group.
The group originally consisted of Alexandra (Holly aka the blue one), Carolina (Molly the pink one) and Emma (Polly the purple one). They where the original members of the group and the Molly, Holly and Polly personas where based on these three girls, they started of their career by entering the show Melodifestivalen with their debut single Hello Hi. Melodifestivalen is the pre selection to Eurovision and a pretty big deal here in Sweden and they got pretty popular, especially among young girls and children. They didn’t win or even come to the grand final tho.
Emma the manager also bought clothes worth around 7 536,64 dollar without the girls knowing that it went from their salary.
It was before the release of “Cherry Gum” Emma (Polly) left the group and got replaced by Marielle (she’s the Polly you see in the video). On their Wikipedia page it states that she left Dolly style to peruse her own band Heart, which the partly true but she also left because of Cherry Gums lyrics which could be seen as dirty and wanted to change it because so many children where fans of them. But their producer just said “we make music for the dads too and s3x sells” so she talked with their record label and they changed all the girls contract so they could leave whenever they wanted to. This meant that they could also get kicked out whenever. This lead to the members being very replaceable because they weren’t preforming as themselves, but as Molly, Holly and Polly. Their manager often threatened them to replace them with other people (even herself sometimes) so they would do as she said.
Carolina left the group in 2016 because of many reasons, her adhd being one. She has adhd but she doesn’t take medicine for it because it doesn’t really work for her but they tried forcing her to take it. She got replaced by a girl called Mikaela.
The second Polly left the same year I don’t really know what reason but I know their staff used to call the names like “the hungry doll” or “the fat doll” so that was probably why she left the left the group. She got replaced by a girl named Sarah.
The only remaining original member Alexandra left in 2018 because of the direction their management wanted to go. She had always wanted to be a part of the band because she wanted to prove to everyone that she was irreplaceable. She wanted to tour the world with Dolly style and she thought they would do it because their manager had talked about it. But their manager had a dream of creating a franchise of Dolly style. Like each country had it’s own group who would tour in only that country. She felt betrayed and left therefore the group.
Dolly style where role models for many young children and one of their messages was girl power. But behind the scenes it was a bit different. A day after their tour ended Sarah (the 3rd Polly) informed by their manager that she was kicked out because she was a too much of a feminist. That it would scare away people who where more conservative and that they would sell less.
Their manager would often trash talk the members who had left and say stuff like “oh look what she’s doing she’s trying to bring us down she’s such a bad person”. Their producer on the other hand not only said that they make music for the dads too also wanted them to flirt with other celebrities and in general act sexual which is weird cause in the beginning they where only 18.
I’m so if this was a really long answer but I really wanted to write this, I know other members have left the groups but I don’t know why so I won’t write it

All 3 of the girls had quit due to their own reasons, one of them quit because of adhd, another because she got called "hungry doll" and "fat doll" and the last one quit because they wanted to go on tour with the original people. They were all replaced.

Emma Pucek (Polly in purple) left after "Hello Hi", and Marielle Myhrberg took her place before shooting this video. I don't know if Emma was in the recording studio for "Cherry Gum" before she left.
None of the girls you see here are in the group anymore. Alexandra was the last of the original members to leave (March 2018). Melodifestivalen 2019 will have 3 new girls; their 5th, 7th and 8th members. The 3rd Polly (their 6th member) left this month (Nov. 2018).
