2012 Griffin King of the Hammers Highlights

2012 Griffin King of The Hammers Week with footage presented by Falken Tire. A montage of highlights from the week prior to the main race, including the Every Man Challenge, Qualifiers, King of the Moto etc. One of the inserts dropped into Friday's live show.

Videography was great. Pacing was fantastic, and even for those not super interested in the sport, the video is fun to watch. The lighting on some of these scenes is amazing, capturing a sense of time passing. Nice mix of the technology in the vehicles, the craziness of some of the climbs, the fans, and the scale of the event. Hats off to the video crew/editors.
My favorite is around 2:30 when the guy points, and next thing is the sand blowing over the camera as it rolls... Priceless.

I've shown this video to a lot of non-racing friends and family in the past 2 weeks. It captures the essence of the event better than any single videos short of the DVD's.

That was my first King of the Hammers, which was cool due to it was the first King of the Hammers Moto! Great times, if you have never been to a KOH, start making plans for next year, there is nothing like it!

With the right lines (and a slower pace), a well engineered truck could make it. Arguably a buggy is still the preferred chassis and would move much faster, but a class of trucks would be fun to watch and IMO could still compete.

So essentially it's the same as the retired GT1 Class in the Petite Le Mans. I just started working for one of the companies that will be participating in it, but I pretty much love anything with an engine aside from boats. These "trucks" however are phenomenal.

It's not essentially the same as anything. The Hammers are in a league of their own. The King of the Hammers puts The Hammers on steroids because it isn't a day of brutally technical crawling, it's racing like a madman through the toughest trails in the world.
When people say it's the toughest one day race in the world, they aren't joking.

Unfortunately that slower pace would cause bottlenecks at Chocolate Thunder and many other spots that are already about at their maximum. As it stands now (last year being a prime example), traffic jams up there to the extent that I expect huge changes this year. Another class of slower moving vehicles running at the same time would just be silly. Perhaps having another day for them could be an option, but otherwise it's more of a hindrance than anything else.

trophy trucks cant do that stuff. unlimited is top class,everything goes, no nitrous no alcohol. unlimited engine weight tire size etc. and safety stuff
