- At the height of Europe’s spring Covid wave in 2021, the filmmaker Lucy Darwin offered to drive the actor and national treasure Miriam Margolyes from her home in Italy to London so that she could film the latest series of Call The Midwife.

@@unlokia I have to disagree. Her lack of filter is refreshing, in an age of social media, where you have no idea what or whom you are interacting with. At least you know exactly what Miriam's intentions are. I'm sure that Miriam would agree with me on this: if you don't like how she comes across, then the solution is not to watch or listen to her. There are many, many people who find her a joy, including myself. I cannot abide people who hide behind a facade.
I wouldn't want to be in the same room with anyone who didn't love Mirrium.

Loved this. My mum is in her 80s and her driving is becoming erratic... always an adventure. I got nervous when Mirriam took the wheel.

@Egwene - I actually lived in the UK for 8yrs but w/o TV and only knew about her when she - of all ppl - was Mother Superior in Call The Midwife.... - she is incredible and I often wonder now how she could keep a straight face in that role, she who loves swearing so much :)
I love this episode with Miriam in it. She is such a gem. For some reason i have thought of her today while driving back home from work. Im so glad i could watch shows beyond her appearances in Graham Norton while im in the middle east. I aspire to be as energetic and as spunky as her when i age. Such an inspiration!
