Michael: I have been watching your channel for a few years now. I never realized what a great interviewer you are. You make it look so effortless. You are excellent at starting a topic and then letting the guest take over and finish with their thoughts and stories. Great job!
Thank you for the kind words Shawn. I am probably much better now after doing over 50 Home Theater Tours and several trade show coverage over the past 6 years.
This guy got a good deal! Nicely done! A lot of people spend big money but don't understand that the acoustics in the room need to match. I spent a lot of time making my room work for the whole thing. I only have 1 lazy boy in the middle, just for me. No guests, nobody else. It's MY home theater and computer gaming center lol. I spent about a 5th of this but did all the work myself, as an enthusiast I wanted to learn and see how well i could do it. Honestly for that price he got a steal of a deal.
I first came in contact with the wisdom audio system. They were at a high-end Audio show at the Venetian Hotel (in 2013?) tower not in the typical CES floor at the convention center in the city of los wages. I was extremely impressed with their system.
Keep your room inside of a room. im perfectly fine with my 60in pioneer kuro, rtx 2060 pc with a 2699v3, and late 70's klipsch heresys with a Italian leather love seat. All thrifted and most of the pc i got at a recycling center it was a dell precession 5810 and the video card was 180 from ali express..entire setup cost me a total of 410 bucks and its rad :D
I could get a better projector, more high-end projector in the future, but it really was the sound I wanted to get right first. I doubt I will ever replace any of the speakers, amps, and sound processor, they are perfect (unless something breaks). But those are really a long term investment, I will be using them for many many years. Projectors come and go.... (a little less going now with the lasers instead of bulb models but still). The sound makes the movie for me.
41:16 This was the exact solution I was looking for my home theater. It's small so I only had room for 2 seats, but that means no center seat. The line of Octane seats he has is available in a 3 seat sofa with each seat having the ability to recline. Add the removable armrest and it's perfect. I literally couldn't find that option from other manufactures. Thanks Youthman!
I am also looking for the same solution. I have looked online in the Octane website and I am not able the find what he has in this video. Have you been able to find it? Thanks
Yeah, that was my biggest issue with the Valencia, Oxford. The middle seat was kind of useless if you sat in it because you could not recline and you didn’t have cupholders.
Have always loved supported and recommended JL Car Audio since the 90’s. I’ve ran all the way up to their W7 series subs in my cars and would love to run their home audio subs some day.
I think this is one of your best videos yet. What I really appreciated was seeing the control system being demonstrated. So many home theater tours on RUclips overlook what I think is extremely important. How do you turn the thing on? I also really appreciate the fact that the homeowner has a loveseat option so he can sit close with his family. At the end of the day when you run out of things to talk about, it’s nice just to cuddle up next to each other and watch a movie.
I agree. It was two days of filming and three days of editing. My wife thinks I’m crazy for making a one hour video, but I want to provide as much context, education, story, and information that I can to inspire others with their home theater build. I’m sure if you go back to my first few home theater tours when I begin doing them six years ago, they are probably pretty cringe lol.
The earlier you get everyone involved the cheaper the project will be. When my sister built their home I remember the contractor saying that in one of the meetings. Witch does make sense.
Man that has to be the best home cinema I have ever seen. Like the owner science fiction is my main following. I say to anyone "If a movie has the word star in the title, I probably own it" 7.6.1
Inspiring! Thank you, Youthman, for another great home theater tour. Good to see people making their dreams come true. You mention that it’s a balanced audio system. I have to ask.. how does this compare with your and other JTR systems?
Oh my god, this is literally an exact copy, down to the smallest detail, of a home theater in Shanghai made in 2015. Are you allowed to appropriate a designer's work without permission or fees?
Another great video. And, of all the home theatre tours you've done (pretty sure I've seen them all), this is my favourite. Beautiful design, *gorgeous* screen, fantastic!
Awesome setup! I was wondering... What's the point of 8 Apple TV's for one room? Maybe it's explained, but I still have 12 minutes left in the video. Shouldn't you only need one?
I'm guessing it's for multiple rooms, but wouldn't they be better in those individual rooms if that's the reason? Rather than in the rack in one place?
Thanks for all your hard work my man. Did you ever get around to doing an in-deprh review of the Emotiva DR-3 amp. You did an unboxing and brief discussion on it about 3 years ago..
What i dont understand, why they dont build an Bass Array with more speakers incl Baffle Wall ? In the ceiling or front wall. I understand that they time align and set them up properly but arrays have way more benefits. Maybe its just the cherry on the cake but most installers do that here. whatever, an truly awesome theatre with finally an installer who sounds very professional with knowledge and dont throw just in some speakers and pre made acoustic panels like most them do. Good work 👌 But still not 100%. Specially when i compare them to installer like ,,HollywoodZuhause,, (also here on YT) - their builds are the top of the top in terms of Acoustic, Speaker Performance and professionall modern looking cinema.
I ain't gonna be able to afford anytbing like this working at a convenience store, but hey I live a happy life and that's all that matters. This is all materialistic things at the end of the day and none of it will matter when you pass.
100% agree. But I can still appreciate it, even though I will never be able to afford it. As Dave Ramsey says, “There’s nothing wrong with having stuff. Just don’t let stuff have you.”
@youthman which track on the Hans Zimmer concert were you listening to that Had the drums you mentioned moving around? Wonderful video and tour. one of my new favorites.
Oh, Wisdom is offering calibrations and they're coming to Canada! I should try to book them while they're on their tour! *Sees prices in video* I will learn to be happy with my poor man's setup that is uncalibrated...
Is his room on the main level or higher? He’s obviously successful so one would think IF he was able to, this would be a Basement Home Theater. Excellent setup no matter where it is.
Absolutely not. Just like everything’s not good about Asian culture, or Mexican culture, or African culture, or Canadian culture. Every culture has their shortcomings.
@@Youthman I'm not saying that different cultures don't have their shortcomings. I'm saying you come across as very American and can't be mistaken for any other type of person and you do it in a very warm, inviting and respectful way. You represent American culture very well. But if you aren't down with the compliment then that's cool too.
Oh! I read it as a question instead a compliment. I was completely off with that one 🤣. My apologies. Keep in mind I read hundreds and hundreds of comments every single day and try to reply to as many of them as I can. Sometimes in my haste, I misinterpret the written text. Thank you for clarifying.
Very cool theatre. I got one question. With a screen that provides the width for every aspect ratio, when would you use the bottom and top masking? I can't think of a situation where you couldn't fill the image top to bottom and run the side masking in.
So far I have not needed the horizontal masking. I still have limitations on the number of stored zoom settings in the projector, only 3. If there was a movie that had bars on top and bottom that I could not zoom in, then it would be needed. When I designed everything, I didn't even know about MadVR. It removes the top and bottom bars on just about everything, like magic, and I do stretch some aspects to fill the entire screen width wise. 2:1 or less doesn't really work very well stretched.
@@ericsites4633 Ah, got it, thanks. And congrats on a really cool theatre. I understand not being able to wait until everything is finished, I listened to unpainted DIY speakers for 1.5 years before starting painting them🤣.
Lovely room. Congrats! Personally, I don’t get masking screens. I get light bleed and the likes but actual Theaters don’t use them and it’s common for them to have unused screen (like “black bars” on a TV) on the top and bottom. Not even in huge IMAX screens use it, that often have changing aspect ratios throughout the film. IMHO It’s just one more (expensive) thing that can break down :-))
I absolutely cannot stand it if I’m in a commercial movie theater and I see Gray bars above and below the screen. That’s unacceptable. They have the ability to put a film in a room that has a screen that will fit that aspect ratio. I’ve only seen it happen a few times but when it does, it’s annoying. As I shared the video, we had a demonstration from Seymour at MWAVE 2022. While the content was playing on two 150 inch screens from two different projectors, Chris Seymour walked up to the screen that had a lower end projector and added horizontal masking above and below to hide the gray bars and the entire crowd said “Whoah!”. We were all shocked that with the masking, the lesser projector now looked better than the higher end projector. This is due to perceived improvement of contrast. it didn’t physically change the image but our brain perceptually tells us it looks much better. It’s really that big of a deal.
@@Youthman Thank you for the reply 🙏. Love your channel. I get it, when you want to go the extra mile (and can afford it), like with anamorphic lens. But I use my room nearly everyday and that’s the kind of equipment I see breaking down. And I suppose it’s dead silent, otherwise having it move while watching a movie detract you out of the moment. Thanks again 🙏
@BrunoDeMarques electronic masking screens typically do not move while you’re watching a movie. Well, maybe the first few seconds between the menu and actually starting the movie when you see the gray bars. But with movies, like interstellar, the dark Knight, where the aspect ratio changes between scenes, he would not be able to utilize electronic masking for that

Who do I call in LI NY for this kind of stuff? Theme I want to go for is the Bat Cave
@youthman which track on the Hans Zimmer concert were you listening to that Had the drums you mentioned moving around? Wonderful video and tour. one of my new favorites.
I showed Broll of the track we used. It was the second from the bottom of the list on Kaleidescape.
@@Youthman Are you referring to 33:29 in the video? I can't make out what track is being played if so. Or is this broll further into the video?
@ZeonStar77 sorry about that I thought I originally put it in the video but now see I removed it due to timing
@@ZeonStar77 The song is mombasa
@@Youthman That’s alright. Thanks for letting me know.
Oh, Wisdom is offering calibrations and they're coming to Canada! I should try to book them while they're on their tour! *Sees prices in video* I will learn to be happy with my poor man's setup that is uncalibrated...
Wisdom will go ANYWHERE to Calibrate. Just get in contact with us.
I wonder how long it took to build such a cinema hall from design to completion?
He shared it within the video.
Is his room on the main level or higher? He’s obviously successful so one would think IF he was able to, this would be a Basement Home Theater. Excellent setup no matter where it is.
The entire house is all on a single level. No basement.
We don’t have basements in Florida or they would be an aquarium
great video youthman
Love it!
I might have missed it, but what is the UI he was using for his media library?
Kaleidescape
Youthman is everything good about American culture.
If in this room Can you still hear the thunder?
no
Very cool theatre. I got one question. With a screen that provides the width for every aspect ratio, when would you use the bottom and top masking? I can't think of a situation where you couldn't fill the image top to bottom and run the side masking in.
That is a great question.
Awesome😊
"i ended up saving alot of money" after spending 580k lol
That’s how my wife justifies her spending too 🤣
I was waiting for this one ❤
Love the way way ajustable screen, plus all that intregration that even wife can use even.
Neet cables installation.
Nice video tour. Thanks
But with movies, like interstellar, the dark Knight, where the aspect ratio changes between scenes, he would not be able to utilize electronic masking for that
Super nice
Been so excited for this one. Amazing theater. ❤❤🔥🔥
Thanks. I just want to know what he does for work.
I believe he is in the business of security development.
If there's thunder outside, can you hear it?
no
Stunning room. Unreal. But 580k is almost offensive 😂
Then you will really be offended by my next Home Theater Tour. I fly out tomorrow morning and will be filming on Thursday.
A very well done home theatre, who's jealous? Great video Youthman!
Such a fantastic space that is absolutely inspiring as to what is capable to execute with some ingenuity And Motivation .
100% agree!
Fantastic!
