No it was written and recorded by Dolly Parton (who is still with us and performing) and also sung by Whitney Houston (who died), So either way it is another example of "The Voice Global" being sloppy with the facts.@@CaroleWu-py4rs

@@kimberlytyler7428Actually, the first song “I Will Always Love You” was originally written and sung by country singer Dolly Parton, who is very much alive. Yes, Whitney Houston, who is dead, made the song more famous then Dolly’s version, but she didn’t originate it.
Looking over the list, it seems to be songs written by, sing by, or covered by a now dead artist rather then being songs from voice contestants who have since died (of which a number of such examples do exist). SO yes, I was a bit confused at first too but I realize now that there intent likely wasn’t intentionally misleading.

While they're good covers and good voices', just remember that it's a karaoke competition. The singers will never go onto infamy.

Numerous countries host their own versions of The Voice, yet we only seem to highlight those from America, Germany, the UK, Belgium, France, Italy, and so on. What about the editions from the rest of the world? Its not the Voice Global. You better call the Voice America and Europe.

Can we please normalize attributing songs to those who actually wrote them, "In the Pines"/"Where did you Sleep Last Night" is not by Nirvana. "Nothing Compares to You" is by Prince, who is also dead.
