This looks amazing!! Sure I have Sony mirrrorless cameras but sometimes a camcorder with good 4k and servo zoom lens is the right tool...I could use a camcorder like this- S-Cinetone for sure to match my 2 FX30 cameras. Have you done a test in lower light? Any shortcomings with this camera? I wish it had the fstop ring on the barrel and NOT a small wheel on the side of the camera. That 120fps looks great! Thanks for this. Is this the best camcorder available today?

@@TheFandangovideoguy thank you. This camera will match perfectly in S-cinetone with your FX cams. The iris wheel doesn’t bother me, because when I shoot with my FX6 or 9, I don’t touch the iris and simply ride the variable ND. You can do the same with this camera. If you set the iris to f4.4, you can zoom without the iris ever ramping, and simply ride the ND wheel to expose. I would say that this is the best camcorder available right now, and the only one that could top it is a Z280 replacement.

@@luma_productions yeah...this camcorder looks promising...I can't afford the Z280 but the Z280 seems to be a good camera. Just too much for me. I would use a camcorder for some live events, dance performances etc whereas my FX30s get used a lot for interviews and weddings. I hope to see a comparison of the Z200 vs Z280...in low light (I don't mean no light just lower than South Florida sunshine! LOL) At one point I was considering a Canon XF605 but I decided to wait a bit.

@@TheFandangovideoguy the 605 is pretty soft. Not sure if you’ve used one but I find the image very mushy.

@@luma_productions I was such a Canon boy a while back...I had 2 XF300 cameras, one XF100, then a C100 mk2 and a Canon 90D etc...the XF300 as actually ok for HD and live events but sometimes I need 4k footage to edit down to 1080p...I wanted to stay with the XF line and I almost bought a second hand one but some youtube reviews were not favourable-just a bit cleaner and a bit sharper than the HD only XF line and some even reported a lot of noise on their footage. So I needed to makes sure and I managed to borrow one and tested it recording the same live dance performances etc against the XF300 and in the end I honestly didn't feel that the XF605 in 4k was A LOT better than my older XF300- I always do some lumetri tweaking etc to my XF300 footage...I don't use my cameras in AUTO-always in Manual and I adjust all parameters (I do use auto focus a lot)...I wanted to be wowed by the XF605 but I wasn't...maybe I use the C100mk2 a lot in HD and now a couple of Sony FX30s with Sigma lenses. So this Sony looks a lot better to me -sharp but not overly sharpened so that it looks like go pro footage! and detailed and with good colours.I will try to rent one sometime over the next few months-It hasnt been released here in Canada yet. It has to be a good camcorder if it costs more than a FX3 ( different tools I understand) but pic quality is a major factor why we always want to get newer cameras. It could be the last good pro camcorder ever for me. So if you used the XF605 you can tell which one is better. And this Sony is significantly better? Thanks

Have you tested any interview style footage, maybe 50mm look. It looks like the colors and skin texture will match my fx3

@@heelsandreelspodcastif you’re shooting both in S Cinetone they will match closely. What you won’t get is any depth of field out of this camera at 50mm.

@@luma_productions thank you. Ya for podcasts I don't need to much depth, I'm usually at F4 to 5.6 anyways. Need that product placement. Ya I think I'm going to stick to the fx30s with good glass, that 1" and glass combo looks nice, but can't grab the little details that I like.
