- REBEL ACCESS tv presents an interview with Devin Townsend when he was still doing Strapping Young Lad. Devin is one of my all time favorite performers both on and off stage. Rebel Access tv is requesting that any comments are kind as these hosts are not professionals. They are usually picked out from the general audience crowd. They have no idea they will be interviewing the band when they attend the show. That is what makes it more fun for everyone involved and sets us apart from those who take life so seriously. Rebel Access is a loosely formatted raw and fun show with basic easy pre written questions for the performers and the nervous host of this episode. This episode previously aired in both the Chicago and Arizona area. That REBEL ACCESS tv is IN YOUR FACE!!

Timothy Price He has bi polar disorder and spent years on drugs and at one point stopped taking his medicine. SYL was a really bad outlet for him and that's why he rarely, if ever, plays their songs live these days.

a bad outlet is infinitely better than no outlet, leading to horrible acts upon self and other. on top of that the greatest art is based on "bad outlets".

From what I just researched, he went to his doctor proposing that he was misdiagnosed with bipolar due to substance abuse and the doctor agreed, so he came off of neuroleptics on his own and on top of that was drinking and smoking weed, so that's what made him quite unstable during the recording of "Alien".
Why on earth would you have music playing like that in the background? Yes its relevant to the interview but its distracting and just takes away from the actual context

The music in the background should've been halved, volume wise... And man, it's so weird to go back and see old devin... He's so drugged up... And it's so easy to see how anti-social he is... But how brilliant he was, even back then.

The audio of the interview already sucks. So let's totally drowned out everything being said with BGM played at the same volume of the interview. Terrible.

awesome interview! i wish he had given a more in-depth and less modest answer about Alien "re-defining the meaning of extreme" - because as cheesy and cliche as that sounds lol it actually did... its the most extreme shit ive ever heard for sure...
