It may be hard to see, but there is tall grass there that can hide ambushers and some skirmishers in there. In the first Rome game it can be pretty hard to see, because it blends in with the ground.
Wow I’m not that great but I know I could have done better with that Roman army… I mean he had a lot of decent infantry. 2 praetorian cavs a general and 2 archer auxiliary… Completely wasted his Cav including general and didn’t even try to use his infantry or archers let alone the projectiles. Wow!

How many hours do you have on this game?
you can average it out by looking at the number of battles I've played, and assuming each battle takes around 15 mins
