Thanks for this awesome viewpoints video, I'm super glad you all enjoy Earth! I've worked so hard on this project, so seeing videos like this is simply heartwarming for me. I'm happy that you are happy that cards don't require other cards prior to being played, having lower restrictions to get more fun and less frustration out of the game was one of my main goal while designing it :) It's nice to see you think the same way. To say it's a candidate for your end year top 10 in March is quite an honour, hope you'll keep enjoying it as much in the future and thanks for this great video again!

Recently got Earth because of so many good reviews. I’m new to your channel and like the format of hearing so many viewpoints as we all different preferences for games and game mechanics. I’ve only played a few games so far at a 2 player count. I’m sure the game will be more challenging with a higher player count. Thus far, I find each game to be different and see that the game will have a lot of re-playability.

I usually won't even attempt games that take longer than 45 minutes, but after hearing a lot of good buzz about Earth I decided to take a chance.
    Fantastic decision. No regrets.
Last night my wife and I played for about 100 minutes (my wife won 314 to 259). Had so much fun I didn't care about losing so badly - I had 68 sprouts!
A triumph of game design, component quality and rulebook clarity. Highly recommend (and if you can afford it, definately get a playmat or two).

wow what a nice comment, so glad you've enjoyed it that much and you had a blast, that's awesome! The more you play the faster it'll get as well, my girlfriend and I never play a 2 player game in more than 40 minutes, sometimes it's 30 minutes and we've already played a game in 20 minutes. Since we know it by hearth so it's obviously way faster, but knowing it more you'll probably be able to play it faster ;)

@Maxime Tardif Thanks! There were definitely turns where I could have pushed the end game, but got so caught up in becoming sproutmaster that it got away from me. I also find that every card I draw I want to keep, sometimes composting is a tough decision even with 10 or more cards in hand! It reminds me a bit of the difficulty I had tucking cards in Wingspan in my early plays of that game (since I wanted to play every bird). Not saying they're the same game at all - just my feeling of attachment to the cards (as an aside, I prefer the placement freedom in Earth). It's also been fun to see how different the three games we've played have been - really changes up the decision space. That said, I can definitely see us playing in 30 to 40 minutes once we get a handle on the cards. Game number four is tonight.

Great video, looking forward to playing it soon. I don't mind point salad games as long as they are done right and don't cause AP. From the sound of it, this is a quick, easy to learn, fun game.

I always find it helpful in order to place a game that I haven't played do ask people which game they would think could replace nice one for them?
... Would anyone like to weigh in? Which game would you replace Earth with?

I would say it has most in common with Wingspan.
Everything you add on cards gives you points, the row or colom are important when playing a card (on getting more points per card). Instead of eggs that are worth points you get to place stumps, that are sometimes worth more if you reach the maximum allowed on a card.
The main difference is that you are far more engaged with the turn of someone else. You always get stuff, everything is rewarding. So maybe not as competitive as wingspan can be, but everything makes you feel good about your engine.

Aren't the tree colors the different cars colors?

I really really wish they would have stayed with the original turquoise color. I'm not a fan of the mixed topper colors. I do enjoy the gameplay though.
