I used to enjoy Collectormania years back, hopefully it can get as big as it used to be again. I dont think I have been to MK shopping centre for over 10 years

It was a reasonable restart for Collectormania MK, considering it's been almost 20 years since the last one, but was a pale shadow of its former self and was poorly advertised - both locally and nationally. I literally only found out about it by accident two weeks ago!
The last time I went to one was in 2009 when it was still being held at the MKDons stadium, and it was Fantastic - especially the amount of traders that set up stalls there.
In the room they had set aside at the stadium for sellers, I'm sure they had space for 100-150 tables (maybe more!), and they filled them, too, even spilling out into the corridors, and they were chock full of real collectable stuff, like your Pokemon/Yugioh Cards, Panini stickers, vintage/retro toys and action figures, etc, etc. . .
What disappointed me this time, is that there were hardly any tables for sellers, and the ones that were there had some very overpriced rubbish, such as badges, homemade jewellery, funfair plushies, 'Mystery' bags, and those bloody awful Funko Pops!
Mind you, the poor quality of items and vendors is probably due to the ridiculously expensive prices that the organisers were charging for a table/set of tables!
For a simple two-table corner pitch, they were charging a STAGGERING £500. . . and an extra £250 if you wanted electrical power!! The guys selling all those crappy Funko Pops had to pay £1500 for their setup!!
For comparison, look at the upcoming May 18th Sandown Park Toy Fair (A REAL collectors heaven and worth a visit!). Sellers there only have to pay £62 per 6ft. table, AND the table(s) and two chairs are supplied. Yes I know people will say "...But the tables you pay for at Collectormania are for all Three Days!" - 3 x £62 is STILL less than £500 folks!
In summary, it WAS nice to see Collectormania return to Milton Keynes again, but it really wasn't great at all.
I hope it can get back to the brilliant and massive event it once was, but it won't if they keep it in the Shopping Centre and charge those ridiculously high prices for sellers/vendors!

Nobody can argue with anything you have said, I had press accreditation at there last Birmingham show and it felt like they were struggling, I hope going back regrouping from where it all started can build something special again for us all 👍

@@RobwithScoobyScooby Maybe it's just the poor planning and greed of Showmasters (The organiser)?
I don't recall ever going to any of their other events, so can't comment on what they're like.
