We organised a UK university shoot at Sporting Targets, Beds, in ~1994 (was our "home ground"). Browning and Gamebore v kindly sponsored us and I borrowed a GTi for the day. Shot amazingly. Bought my 30" Sporter from John Fawcett in Lancaster few months later for £1050. It's my default gun 29 years on. Just part of me. That they are still valued at average £800 on trading platforms shows how good they are. Loved watching this and hearing how recognised GTi's were/still are.👍
I was there from 94-2000 and attended several of those uni shoots repping Leicester uni! My GTi ultra and I enjoyed them greatly! Am in Singapore now, but have fond memories!
I have owned a GTI with the red writing on the side since 2000 and have put thousands of shells through it over the years and have never had an issue with it. It may not be the most modern gun but its my personal favourite.
first gun ever purchased back in 1996 was a lightly used 12 gauge 28" gold GTI "Get Them Italians" with a case for $1,200 USD. Bought it at my local trap/skeet range and still shoot it today. Love It. Looking for a 20 gauge 30" browning/miroku 880 crown grade or citori skeet. hard to find at reasonable pricing
I will never part ways with my beloved Gti. I use my 32” for dtl and it makes it so easy. I shot many 300’s with her. I have a 32” XS Pro Exquisite I use for sporting. What a pair 😀
Started on the GTI ultra and have had 3 as I progressed in clay shooting. I rate them highly and if offered one good condition would think seriously on acquiring. I shoot zoli and krieghoff now, but count the GTi, ultra and derivatives as guns I will always shoot well and equipment that is pretty timeless!
I bought mine second half 2-3 years ago here in Canada. Gold version, serial number dates to 1993 I believe. It’s never given me an issue in the thousands of rounds I’ve had it, and I’m only 8 years older than the gun!
I shoot a 1991 Red Letter GTi Trap fixed choke 32 inch and cannot fault it. I almost px'd it against a newer browning 525 model but couldn't justify the additional outlay when this gun does it so well already! The gun has had plenty of use over the last 32 years but it is still going strong and doesn't skip a beat! It amazes me that the parts in this gun are in many cases fully interchangeable with those in the guns coming off the production line today 👍
The Ultra Sporter 28” is my first O/U now since 20yrs. I like it so much I took it last year to Manuel Ricardo in Portugal to have a custom grade 3 stock made to it, and it still is my goto for any clay shooting. Perfect
My deceased friend had a GTI with the red letters. He called it the Red gun. His sons still have it. I shot it several times and it was and still is the 2nd best O/U Browning made after the Superposed. It’s indestructible!! I have another friend who still has his Red GTI. I’ve shot it too. I told him never sell it unless it’s to me! The gun shop where they were both purchased is long out of business. If I ever run across one I’m buying it!!! Love your videos! I’m from Somerset, PA-USA
I live here in the USA and my first true sporting O/U was a GTI. One of the early ones with the Red lettering. It had 28" barrels and the beavertail fore end. It just felt so good when you mounted the gun.
Dont own one but my father bought one several years ago from a competition shooter in Norway. Had a session now again on the skeet field in Oslo. Lovely handling. Didnt miss a bird that day.
I'm new to the shooting scene, only been shooting for two years. For the first year i used a friends second gun whilst waiting for my certificate to be processed. Once i got it, one of the other club nembers said he gad an old Browning he'd sell for £300. I had been considering a Yildiz Pro Sporter brand new, but when i saw the GTI Ultra, i had to have it. Im still learning, but have won one club competition and am seeing a steady progression as i get used to this old gun. Because its my first gun i doubt i'd ever sell it both for sentiment and to keep as a back-up. The split screen camera-work got in the way of some of the rabbit targets. The GTI just felt so much better in the hand than the Yildiz and any other gun i tried. I suppose its just a personal thing. You get used to your own gun.
Looked a real funky gun, especially in red. Wonder about triggers, so many reviews on Browning but never touch on the subject, not sure why. (At least that I have seen)
I have a GTI with roughly 750 thousand rounds through it. Yep 750k. I started shooting it at clays and it its later years live birds. I also shoot a perazzi mirage. I have only put one set of pins and springs in it. Works flawless. I have a ton of lead in the stock as it does have the browning bump. It took alot of training on live birds as what I consider is the only issue with a browning is the trigger. If you shoot quick you will trap the trigger. That is why I went to a Perazzi. Awesome gun guys....They will bury it with me. I have bought and sold many guns and regretted some of them. I will never sell this rig. Mine has a silver receiver..
Love my 30” GTi. I’m wondering if it’s a rare model as it has a game scene on it. 31 years old and it’s still my go-to guns for clays and game. Bought for £795 in a shop in Chichester in 2007
7 million cartridges? It’s comments like this that devalues your credibility. Assuming you had the same demo gun for 10 years; that’s nearly 2k cartridges per calendar day…for a demo gun. Really???
My understanding is it was 1st used as a demo gun and now it is 40 plus years old......listen to learn don't listen to see what you can pick out to criticize. Have a good one
@@d-rayphelps1630 I don’t think you were listening at all. He said something along the lines of ‘we used to have one of these as a demo gun’ - I.E thats not the demo gun! Even if it was and is 40 years old, thats nearly 3.5k cartridges per week for a demo gun. That’s just absurd. It’s not about criticising…if I can’t trust one piece of information given to me then for me I question what else isn’t credible.
Old Browning GTI, 325 and 425 keep going until the end of times, same with old Miroku or Beretta 682. Fantastic guns. The new 525, 725 Brownings are, in my humble opinion, not nearly as good as the old ones,, same with Miroku.
I'd argue the older variants are nicer finished- mainly due to machining not being as precise as today so they had to finish more by hand, they didn't cut ad many costs then, miroku still make guns as good as the old ones in my eyes
@@MR12GAUGE My gunsmith says the old Miroku are exceptionally well made and fit and finish is excellent. I have an old Miroku ( my fathers gun from 1974) and my new mk11 isn't near the same fit, finish and handling.

Not my type of finishing unfortunately, plain black action with gold or red GTI stamped on it, I mean it’s not like it’s a hot hatch is it? Shot at the time with someone who had 2, shot them well, but the look just didn’t didn’t work for me, same with the B125 F1, black action gold F1 stamped on it, not for me, I had a B125 grade C, it was a lovely gun, I see on Guntrader the occasional grade D come up and wonder, but switched to Beretta years ago and happy with them.
If you do the math it's 14600 days. That's 480 shots/day. If they owned it from new then......?? 18.4 boxes of ammo per day. Possible if it is a range rental??
The GTi was based on the 425, but pimped up in several ways (comb, venting, balance, adjustable trigger etcetera). Of course those tweaks sound obvious and dull now, but when I bought 30" GTi in 1994 they were very new advancements! But, basically based on 425.
