AsapSCIENCE said: 47% hear YANNY and 53% hear LAUREL.

And what's also weird: sometimes you can interchange the sounds just by turning your head right an left! (on speakers not headphones)

I also heard "yanni" at first, but then the emphasis on "Laurel" grew. To me, it sounded as if someone had turned a mixing knob from 60/40 Yanni/laurel to about 70/30 Laurel/Yanni.
I actually heard both. That was weird. Most of my sister's heard Yanni
If you can hear both it means your brain can differentiate between the different frequencies! It's rare!

It was pretty obvious that Laurel was what was being said. As the clip got deeper in tone the actual sound became clearer and the Laurel’s were easier to notice.

I keep seeing/hearing this "test" but have no clue how anyone can hear anything but Laurel....but my daughter age 8 claims she hears Yanni? It's crazy. I guess I am old😂
I’m 14 and I heard Laurel but my parents heard Yanny, so don’t worry you’re not old, people just have different ears that hear different high and low frequencies, it just depends on that.

If you want a hint on how Laurel could sound like Yanny, disregard on how you NORMALLY pronounce Laurel. First off, forget the the U in there. 2ndly have the e sound like the long e, not an short e. In some cultures, the L can sound like the letter Y if it's two L's. So the first L in there would sound like the Spanish double L. The last L is silent because in French language, generally the last letter is silent. So yeah, you really have to think outside the box. The Rs into N sounds, I don't know how to explain that one.

Ok this is too weird the first time I heard this was a few weeks ago and I heard yallo then a week later I fully hear laurel and today I try it again and I hear yallo again until half way through because I started hearing Laurel again

So first, when I played it on my computer, I heard Laural. Then I was like "Whoa.." Then I used my phone and played this SAME EXACT VIDEO and heard Yanny. THEN I WENT BACK TO MY COMPUTER and HEARD YANNY. ARE MY EARS DECEIVING ME???
I'm a musician and need to preserve my hearing. I play in very high pitches, and heard Laurel. I don't understand how people hear a y or an e sound, it isn't there.
(Edit) I am also young and don't want to sound like an ass. I think the correct word that is being said is Laurel.

If you are watching it with open ears it will say yannee

I actually heard both. I did hear Yanny at first but I listened more carefully and picked up the Laurel, I just thought outside the box though and caught on how Laurel sounded like Larry. So without any context, if you would have asked me what I heard without either option, I would have actually said Larry.
FYI, I am 36, but I have extremely sensitive ears, so even as I get older, they'll always be that way.

There is no correct or wrong awnser...its both...if u hear yanny it means that u can hear high pitch noises better the opposite with Laural
I just focus my mind on what word I want to hear, and I hear the word I'm focused on.
You can hear both if you just concentrate on the word thats what i do to switch wat i hear out of these words at first i heard yanny but then my neighbor told me to concentrate on the word lourel and it works i can hear both now!!!

No matter how hard I try all i hear is Laurel. I've tested my hearing and I am able to hear high frequencies with ease. So I'm not sure why I can't hear Yanee
So the other day I could change between both Laurel and Yannee, now I'm stuck on Laurel... I haven't recieved any recents blows to the head either.
Ok..since I heard Laurel plain as day & my 8 yr old heard Yanni, it disturbed me. So, I literally woke up my other kids to see what they heard....ALL YANNI😱 It's confirmed....I'm going insane😂

it was definately laurel for me. , but, there again, im 56, & i used to listen to loud music through headphones, every evening when i was younger, because my hi fi was in the lounge & no one else liked listening to music, they all wanted to do nothing but watch telly all the time, so i had to wear a headset, or i would never have been alowed to listen to any music, at all. i had a small room, & there was no power socket in my room, back then, so i couldn't have any music in my own room.
I can somehow hear the two diffrent words at will. Sometimes, they even combine. The result being YEAUREL

I tried my best to wrap my ears around it but can only hear laurel... And when I listen to the deeper pitched one, I hear yelly. I never hear an 'n'.
This makes sense, what makes yanee must be in high frequencies, so later in life it drops off and you hear the correct word
