Used used this video to replace the door handle on my '02 Sport Trac. Some extremely mild variations in the bolt sizes, but other than that, very smooth. This video is very much appreciated.

This was a life saver! Thank you very much! This was specific, detailed with good camera visuals. I was able to complete the project myself in about an hour. I couldn't get the yellow tab to pop open. I eventually got it, but not sure how exactly, but it's done now. :) 4 weeks of opening the driver's side door from the back door wasn't fun.

Thanks, I think I got it! ,but known I have to decide if too do it myself or pay someone to do it , tuff call because if you want a job done right do it yourself, but to be honest you are way more knowledgeable about this, I would rather pay you ! Thanks. ! ! .
The rod that connects the out side handle to the locking pin... plastic pin damaged where.can I get a replacement,and what is the locking device parts called?
Why would you put washers on the outside of the bolts when you are using flange bolts which have a washer built in. If you use Button head Allen screws you don't need washers and you won't catch you fingers on them.
Why would Ford use rivets to hold a door handle on! are they really that stupid? I will be using dome head Allen bolts and Nylocks when I have to do mine.
Wouldn't have certain amount of steps to take off a handle I'm so freaking irritated right now. And I understand not wanting to hit your fingers on bolts under the handle but rivets is the only thing that they could come up with? I also understand why you wouldn't want to mention to people that the bolt for the inside of the door after you take off that special cloth usually need a drill driver because a regular drill isn't strong enough to usually get those bolts off I know that from first-hand experience using a good drill it didn't matter. They appreciate that you need ed somebody that is going to charge you to fix anything rather than doing it yourself to save money for your family God knows we don't want to do that

I used a button head socket screw, more of a flush mount that a hex

That is a completely different door lining to my 2001 door lining.

Now...all we need to do is replace those ATTROCIOUS arm-rests that peel away from the door panel. Looks like it is a common problem with Explorers.
