i'm so excited to finally be uploading in 4K (i'm only 5 years late! lol). More importantly, i'm super excited about finally dropping some new original music (link in description) . stream it and let me know your thoughts in the comments. what art have you been overthinking?
The art of music. As far as music, I grew up in a Christian household so we would sing a lot so I started singing at 6 years old. I’ve always had a good voice but the fear of judgement or what people think really always made me overthink things which was also part of the reason why I was never in choir in middle school and high school and it’s easy for people to say “You can’t care about what people think about you” but for some people like myself, it’s easier said than done.
The overthinking part is where everyone says you have to have one thing on your page, but my mind creates sooo much variety. Why do I have to edit...ME? 🤦🏽♀️🙇🏾♀️
I'm LYRICALLY GIFTED! I can literally make a song about anything and I follow you and other poets and lyricist as motivation but get anxiety with posting mine. I had a song pop into my head from a Swoope beat, a whole year ago and still trying to get the courage to put it out 🥴😩
@Shamira Taylor this comment helps. I'll try and post it Monday and then come back here and let you know if I punked out again for the 60th Monday in a row 🥴 by overthinking of my social esthetics and limits 😏

The message of "just create, just let it flow, some will love it, some won't and that's okay" hits deeeep
I think this also helps explain why art can be so cathartic. When the rational side takes over, we often get weighed down with the future and decisions we need to make to get us to where we want to be. But when we let the creative side have a chance, we start focusing on the now and how we can simply do the best with what we a currently working on.

Bro, no joke, I really needed this message! I've recently started to face my irrational fears and started uploading some covers on tiktok.. It's really hard for me to finally "put myself out there" (even though people told me they liked my voice) because I still have trouble trusting myself, but this video was actually what I needed to just keep exploring this side of mine! YES to all that was said here!!! Almost a year ago I started making weekly uploads to RUclips for the sake of working on a creative craft with consistency, and it has been transformative for my mind! Even if the eye of the intergoogles doesn’t see it yet, it feels therapeutic!
This comes in a time where I really needed a video like this. As a fellow musician I've had a lot of trouble coming up with new stuff, mostly because of overthinking, the good old "will people like this" instead of "do I like this". And this just gave me the little spark I needed to get back into creating. Thank you for this. Keep up the great vibes man, I hope you achieve all the success in the world.

I definitely gelt this as a content creator. Often theres this little doubt in the back the grows and hinders you from making the content you already are great at. Overthinking truly is the death of joy

Interesting... very interesting use of language and perspectives explored here. I'm watching this over and discovering a new perspective each time.
I find the challenge is that the creative is not always subject to execute Art, at its best in the confines of allocated time and space and this is often in direct conflict with the executive mindset which demands targets. Also frequency doesn't always = quality, which is how I justify breaks in between my moments of journeying to express my art and mind in line with my repertoire. Thanks!
