Or if you already have a Marshall DSL 40 you could just by a 2 by 12 extension cab which could be used on its own or in conjuction with the internal 1 by 12 speaker.
I got one of these are the UK guitar show. It's a beast!
Marshall said only made 50 of them.
How long are these?
What speakers are in it and are they decent ? Need to know as a pair of celestions will run me £250 and up if I need to replace them. Can’t find any info on these anywhere.

Looks a great deal of an amp. I don’t like the limited edition plate just a personal thing, but hopefully it easily comes off. If I get one, the 70/80 speakers will come out and a couple of V30s are going in and this thing will roar.
Sorry apparently these don’t have Celestion 70/80s and come with OEM Asian made speakers.

@@johngee4306it's still a bargain if you put 2 new speakers in it. It is £399 in the UK. £600 with new speakers so still a good buy. Most players upgrade speakers so no biggie.
@@johngee4306 I wouldn't. The UK amps are no better. You just pay more for the higher wages to build it. I have gigged for 30 years and I would be happy with what you class as a student amp built overseas.

A guy on a forum said the special edition uses the same speakers as the MG line uses ?? Can anyone verify this ? There is no info out there on these.
It’s not same as MG line but just stock marshall speakers at 8 ohms together upgrade to creamback back or v30 and it sounds just as good as a British made amp
@@johngee4306 Ill see tomorrow, its my christmas present to myself, right now I run an origin 20c which gives a great vintage marshall sound but I want to explore high gain valve amps and i love marshalls. My origin 20c was my first valve amp 2 years ago so I can't wait to give this a try.

In fairness you haven’t really demoed this amp.
I’m sure it sounds good but before I buy this amp I’d like a really good idea of it’s capabilities. I’m sure it will sound different to the 40cr. I’ve tried all these dsls and the 40cr is the best of them. I’m intrigued.
You could make the 1 by 12 DSL 40 sound the same or extremely close to this new 402 by running the 1 by 12 through a 2 by 12 open back cab . I ran my DSl 40 CR through an open back 1 by 12 JVM cab for about a year and a half and it sounded huge and fantastic . I ran the amp in the lower power mode with that cab and with the open back 2 by 12 cab it did a very credible imitation of a a vintage open back 2 by 12 lower wattage Marshall combo when using the classic gain channel with the volume up. Still alot more modern sounding then the real thing but it did a credible imitation. It would have sounded much closer with different speakers in the 2 by 12 JVN cab which has the Marshall spec vintage 30 and the Marshall heritage speaker which I believe is a Marshall spec G1265 like speaker but rated for 70 watts with a slightly different EQ curve . The DSl 40 us one of the most versatile amps on the market. You can cover any Marshall tone from any era of Marshall and rhe DSL40 will do it convincingly. The DSl amps also respond well to speaker swaps and different combinations of cabs and speakers . I switched from the stock V type to a Creamback M65 and I was shocked at how different the amp sounded. I also have 3 different 1 by 12 cabs and a 2 by 12 all with different speakers that I use with both my DSL40 and DSl 5 and they all make the amp sound quite different and sound great . In total there are 6 different speakers I use with the DSl 40 and the best one when used on its own is my 1 by 12 with celestion G12H30 75hz heritage with the internal Creamback M65 being a close second and the best combination is the internal Creamback paired with my orange 1 by 12 cab with a vintage 30 . The G12M65/vintage 30 combo is the ultimate middle ground between vintage and modern you van Eq the amp so that combo sounds very vintage or Eq the amp so they sound quite modern but that combo works best when you set the amp for a tone that is good mix of vintage and modern

I have two of these amps now. After I purchased the first one I’ve bought a second it sounds that good. It’s not that heavy and it’s a great sound in one package. Whether they’ve made tweaks to the bass response ( as it’s tighter, my only complaint on the 40cr) or it’s the twin speakers 🔊 I care not, it’s just a better amp than the JVM c ( in my opinion, ( as the cleans are much nicer) as I’ve had two of those and they weighed a ton.
I’m in love with this configuration full stop. 599.00 !!!!!!!!!! No brainer!!!

I got a JRAD Archer Ikon to try to get my Orange TH30C sounding better and then tested a DSL 40CR in PMT today and fell in love, saw this deal and went for it. I'm looking forward to putting my pedals (especially the JRAD) into it when it arrives on Monday. Can't wait to get some Randy Rhoads tones (and AC/DC of course)... Thank again :)

Sounds like Maria Von Trapps gusset after she has climbed every mountain and then used it as a washboard . Just my opinion .
@FairDealMusic can this be controlled/tamed to be used in the house at love vols ?????
