Honestly, I think Em was in a much worse state in this time period than people and the media knew about. I think he had intended on suicide especially given the chorus lyrics. It was like his final goodbye but then happened to come back with Recovery. Not just as a recovery from his addictions, but recovery from they suicidal depression he was dealing with.
I always listened to this song when I was younger and never really took the lyrics in, just loved the beat and the flow. It's nice to come back and realize how much of a masterpiece this song really is.
At 13 years old i had to be admitted into a mental facility and this was the last song i heard before i was wheeled away and cried myself to sleep because i was so scared about what was going to happen. It’s been almost 3 years later and i’m still here listening because though i was hospitalized it didn’t help for a long time. I relapsed multiple times and my mental health had declined. I have been on meds since 8th grade and this song is the one thing that had gotten me through it all
I'm glad you're still here with us, as I shuffle through these Eminem songs I have a similar feeling as to when you were hospitalized. Only I'm at home feeling imprisoned by my own family.
Care Minimum After I got, out my house became similar to a prison and it still is so I get the frustration on that part. Reply to this if you want my instagram so you have someone to talk to
I used to listen to Eminem all the time, now I'm more of a metalhead but I still love all genres of music and, no matter what you are into, there is no way anyone can deny that this is a beautiful song.
This is the first time a song by Eminem has made me cry... All of his songs are deep and have a very powerful meaning and a very powerful effect on people, but I am literally crying right now.
man all this Eminem songs I used to listen to them back then so much more than now he was and is one of my favorite rappers that doesn't just rap about bs. Props to the real Em.
And when I'm gone, Just carry on, Don't mourn, Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice, Just know that I'm looking down on you smiling, And I didn't feel a thing, So baby don't feel no pain, Just smile back
Beautiful and so heartfelt & heartbreaking. Excellent job!! Thank you, for keeping it real (and enduring the repercussions that followed). It is all way, well-worth it.
@lukas vitt Bro you have to relax your true love will come belive me. Stay strong and wait u aren't ugly girls just can't see that. They don't deserves you
I'd give more then my arm, I'd give my dying words to the one I used to know, I'd give my life for the people who died around me. I just wish I was there to at least help
I used to think that Eminem was a terrible person, but this song makes me feel like hes a real great person, that's kinda insecure, but he loves his children, and hes just a normal person, who's going through some real bad things. This song makes me cry. Honestly hes a great person who has made some not so great decisions. But I love him.
Eminem does nothing ? dont let me get started! he doesnt complain in his songs, he teaches us something, and tells us about what to do when you're having a bad time.. He raps about stuff with meaning and its not complaining, Marshall is a very strong person
“Just take another pill, yeah I bet you will. You rap about it, yeah word, k-keep it real” I can feel the regret he has about his actions so much in this
You know what? I used to hate rap music... but then I started to listen... Eminem's lyrics... And I started to love it! These lyrics are full of reality!
I cry when I hear this song. When I was a kid, my dad was kind of in and out of my life for drugs and work. He ended up moving 90 miles away with his mom, and he gave me this song to listen to. Once before he left again, I was pushing stuff in front of our door crying begging him not to go. My mom kicked him out a few times for domestic abuse (which was both of them hitting each other, ect) they were both on drugs which was the reasoning for all the fighting, and again I had to watch him leave but in a police car. I was rather young so I don't really remember. But that stuff was so long ago, he's back now and more present. Him and my mom are better, and clean(ish) (he's still working on it) and they're mid divorce. But I still cry when I listen to it, it just still resonates with me.
Never forget where Eminem has been, he didn't choose to do the music he does now. But he will always be the one and only real rapper who wrote about his experiences and his life.
Does anyone realize he’s gonna be gone someday and when we think about him we will all want to cry because he has been a part of all our childhoods and he’s given millions a voice and he’s spoken reality I think people don’t realize were all growing up all these things we grew up with that made us to the people we are today someday no one will ever even think about it won’t even be in their memories and that’s what makes growing up so sad it’s that you can’t have this constant feeling of happiness and love and stability because once you grow up all those things that shaped you into you become things you’ll barely even be able to remember all those songs that spoke real meaning and truth or those family members biological or not or those show that you used to get away from stuff around you because they’ll all be gone. And hey maybe since were destroying the earth you won’t have to worry about it because we’ll probably run our of air in less than 20 years so at least we will all forget those beautiful things together.
I used to listen to this everyday with my brother, even today we would both hate if he was gone, then i realized this video was 12 years ago... damn i wish i was 12 again now
This was me n my brothers song as well as my sister and i’s song as well. we would have it on repeat all day. Being young and not having a worry in the world. Those days are gone and so are my two little brothers lost them 3 months apart from eachother . But I know they’re looking down on me smiling. Rest well my brothers. thats why EMINEM/SLIM SHADY is the best rapper ever he is so good at that that no one else can do what he can and its not just that its the way he delivers the song to the people to understand in LIFE.
Such an underrated song. It has the first place in my top 3. I remember crying so fkn much when my dad had to left for work. My mom would neglect me and my siblings. Sometimes we wouldn't eat for a whole day and would be put to bed at 1am. I wasn't even 9 at the moment. When my dad would have to leave for his work I'd go to the door and cry and beg for him to stay. I can relate to this song so hard, it hurts. Fortunately, I now live at my dad's house! My parents got divorced. Sadly, my little brother still lives there but comes 2 weeks/month. But my step brother doesn't come at all for reasons I don't wanna talk about. To everyone reading this; It gets better. You'll get out of that situation. I did. You can do it too.
Eminem is what you call a legend for the rapper world . My kids are going to definitely going to be introduced to Eminem’s music . I grew up with it . My parents listened to all types of songs when I was In a car seat .
This song hits really close to home because just over 2 years ago I was put into a mental health hospital against my will(I was 13). This was the last song that I listened to before they took my phone.
Did I want to cry? Really not sure. Am I crying? This cannot be hidden. Thanks Eminem, I haven't been able to bring myself to express my emotions for weeks.. I needed this.
Marshal tells a story, a story were he tells that everything is hard for him, a story were he wants emotion, a story were he has confidence. He does everything to make people happy. He does eveything were to be a good person. And thats who he's sposed to be.
