I have a tip for you. Not sure if you already know this, but : Fill your UltraSonic cleaner with water. Put your carburettors / parts in a Zip-Loc bag and fill the bag with cleaning fluid. Place the bag in the water and you'll get the exact same effect. You can use plastic / glass jars too if you have sharper objects to clean. Hopefully this helps and will save you some cleaning fluid and time cleaning your cleaner.

When welding frame together should`nt there be a plug piece of pipe shared between the frame end where you weld it? Nice to see old bikes being brought back to life.
I was thinking 'expanding foam' as you were making the cut-out. But you have a good point using the foam for access later on. Love your work bud. Keep 'em coming!
i'll be making a whole new cafe racer style subframe for my 1988 yz250 cafe racer supermoto street tracker build this was a big help as I'm planning on bending my tube using a gas torch and some dyes the only problem was making the compound bend for the up swept part this video was a big help
I enjoy watching your bike builds( not much of a Camaro fan ) . I do have a question. On the frame hoops. Wouldn't it be a lot stronger to sleeve them at the joint where you weld it to the bike frame? I'm just use to doing it whenever I have a tube joint. I drill a couple holes in tubes I'm joining together. Insert a tube inside each end that sticks out past the end. Then do a rosette weld in each hole. Then weld the joints. You end up with a really strong joint with less of a chance of cracking in the future.
I got my Classic Octane t-shirt yesterday. I replaced the handlebars on my CB750 two days ago and I'd been struggling with getting all the handlebar switch wires hooked up correctly. Once I put on my Classic Octane tee, I had it figured out in no time. Not saying the shirt has magic motorcycle powers, but it seemed to help me figure out what I was doing wrong. (Turns out I wasn't actually doing anything wrong, the aftermarket switches I bought had two wires that had somehow been swapped, so the brown and red wire was actually the black wire with the brown stripe and vice versa...which can throw you for a loop when you're going by the color codes to hook everything up.
How long did it take to get your shirt? I ordered one on May 13 and no shirt or update beyond COVID-related delay. Fine, just wondering if I'll actually get one.
Do you have a wiring fish? I can send you a length of fiberglass rod (for free, since they come in the center of fiber optic cable as strength members) if you want. They work well for fishing wires through tight spaces. Either way, love watching your builds, and I can't wait to see how this bike turns out overall!
Wouldn't you be able to bend each end of the straight pipe first and then bend your 180 bend. Since you do so many similar builds you could develop a strategic starting length to end up with exactly what you need for the hoop
I have tried that but I still don’t have the clearance to get the bend in the right spot. This bender needs about 10 inches of straight tube from the start of any bend.

After this confirmation I figured out that the problem was that the upswept option didn’t show up when shopping on an iPad but that it does with a desktop/ laptop. Weird. Just wonder if anyone can give me some frame-tube, & seat specs, sizes, ie; 1"? dia, 7/8" slugs,? 9" center -center,? outside-outside? wanted too grab a budget- pre-bent-upsweep frame hoop too save some time, so i can get back on it.. something pretty close to the oem frame dia,width.. I can tweek', and just weldR' up. The seat, im still debating on fab'n my own.. Or droping 300$ on.. Id rather do my own seat, and drop $300 on a CARPY'S 4-1 header.. :)
Well done :-) However, fitting frame hoop on a bike from the 70's is not that challenging is it ;-) In my home country (Norway) these bikes are quite rare, but bikes from the 80's are still 'unpopular' and possible to buy for a reasonable price. Could you consider to build a cafe racer based on a Honda from the 80 's? I am rebuilding a Honda CB400N from 1984, please feel free to take a look at my RUclips channel where I just recently posted a video of fitting a home made frame hoop (I am a newbie and would appreciate some visitors) :-D
Hi Taylor. I saw a guy do a neat trick with his ultrasonic cleaner that I'd like to share with you. In order to keep his ultrasonic cleaner clean for other uses he places parts such as carb parts in a plastic soda bottle with gasoline or some other solvent and places the bottle in the ultrasonic cleaner filled with just hot water and it cleans the parts in the bottle perfectly. The solvent in the bottle gets dirty but the ultrasonic cleaner stays clean and when you're done you just dump the dirty solvent. Maybe you could try it out on one of your episodes. It’s their flat seat but there is an option on that page to select upswept.

Or you could've used a longer pipe and cut out wedges in the tube, in the correct angles, bent them, and welded the pipe together.
Could also use a torch and bend them as well. No shortage of ways to do the same job.
