Sourdough Flaxseed Pita Bread | 天然酵种皮塔饼 | Discard Recipe | ASMR

  • Thinking what to make for yourself or family next? Why not switch to a healthier version of pita bread with this small little power food rich with Omega-3 fatty acid, Flaxseeds. This Sourdough Flaxseed Pita bread combines the goodness of freshly milled wholewheat flour as well, which gives the perfect toasty spin of appetising and nutty flavour to the bread. This recipe requires less than 15 mins to make! Simple and I ensure that every bite is as tasty as the last, you will not be buying it anymore after trying this recipe.
    RECIPE
    175g Bread Flour
    75g Wholewheat Flour
    200g Sourdough starter or discards
    20g Toasted Flaxseeds (crushed)
    1 tbsp Sugar
    1 tsp Salt
    100g Water
    15g Olive Oil
    BAKING METHOD
    1. Bake in a Pre-heated oven with baking steel or pizza stone
    250C @ 5-8 minutes
    2. Skillet or grilling rack
    • bake the pita dough on a skillet or grilling rack for 30s (each sides), until it puffs up beautifully
    • If you don’t have any grilling rack, you may either cook them directly on the stove (traditional way)
    NOTE:
    ⚠️ Kindly adjust the hydration accordingly based on your starter consistency
    ⚠️ Recipe yield 8 Small or 6 Medium pita breads

    I made it yesterday day. So good. My bf said its the best Pita bread. even my Oven can go only maximum 230 C. but it works too.

    Hi,i would like to ask why my pita bread doesn't puff up? I'm using a stainless steel frying pan.

      This recipe is just not good. Eheb using sourdough started you must give the dough time to ferment... 1 hour+20 minutes is just not enough.

    Hi Abby, I’ve enjoyed all your video. Btw, may I know how do you store the Pita that's not consumed? And for how long can I store them?

      Hi! I usually store them in a ziplock bag then keep them in the fridge/ freezer. Fridge can last up to 2 weeks where as the freezer 1-2 months. Then reheat whenever you want to eat them.

      Hi! Most likely due to insufficient steam, try to preheat the oven longer.
