No.. I have a NOS block and pistons. The crank has virtually no wear so I am going to assemble with new bearings and check the clearance.. and go from there.
I can’t get over how clean that looks in the video. Even the inside of the timing covers looks like it just came out of the parts washer. Thanks for the video.
I am amazed by the almost zero wear of the mains and rod bearings. I bought new bushes for the small ends of the connecting rods, but I am going to leave them as they are. The Southbend has been in the shop for 3-4 years now, was a hand me down (gift) from a very good (great) friend. I love it. Thanks for watching and please be safe out there.
Excellent video. It seems the way it looks after that many miles gives me hope for my m30b34 to last so much longer than I thought originally and thinking about forced induction now. What is your take on your m30b35 motor lasting another few hundred thousand miles?
Thank you very much, i just have bought one m30b35 with low mileage but that was sitting for 15 years and need a reassembly, so this will be very helpful. Hope you make another video of putting back new or refurbished parts all together
Wow massive video! This is pure gold. Thanks for documenting all of this, it's a big service to all the M30 owners.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and be safe out there!
Great video. Working on an M30B28 myself and will be going through this process too.
This is an excellent video. Thank you for posting it and we'll done from Australia 👍
Very nice! Now the trick is to see if you can put it all back together in 1 hour and 17 minutes. LOL!
Probably not.. thanks for the visit, and be well my friend.
I noticed your shirt, Charlies Barb-B-Que in Greenville SC, I live right down the road.
It's my favorite.
Thanks for this! :D
Would you have vid on inspection, mic'ing, evaluation? I have an m30b35 (and another, mbz diesel) which I'm cutting my teeth on.
Are you going to install liners and machine the crank?
No.. I have a NOS block and pistons. The crank has virtually no wear so I am going to assemble with new bearings and check the clearance.. and go from there.
