Guys don't spend your time on BOC book for the ASCP exam. I studied 2400 questions which is on the BOC 6th edition book, but not a single question came from the BOC book, so I failed the exam. I call the ASCP customer service they told me that we don't bring questions from the BOC book. I waisted my money and time.
what's a better book to use?
Where is the best place to get practice questions?
🥲🥲,I'm sorry to hear that. so what do you recommend? Is reading my lecture notes and solving lots of past questions enough for me to prepare for the exams.
I will start my final year on 5th February 2023, I want to ✍️write the exams immediately after graduation.
@@ridwansalifu6987 I will be taking my ASCP BOC exam on May 1st, 2023 and my teacher has made my class purchase MediaLab's LabCE exam simulator to practice with. During my clinical rotations, many people recommended this book: "Clinical Laboratory Science A Bottom Line Approach" by Patsy Jarreau, and the Polansky flashcards.
How I have been studying:
1) Pick a specific area to focus on for a few weeks and take a 50 question practice quiz on LabCe in that specific area at least 3x a week
2) Read through the Bottom Line Approach and make notes on whatever I don't know (If I know it, then there is no point wasting time on it)
3) Use the Polansky flashcards/ RUclips or other sources to help me learn/understand the things I took notes on from step 2
I was told that this Exam is made to make you feel like you are failing when you take it (Idk how true that is since I haven't taken it yet). Hope this can help you out, good luck!!
The BOC book is an excellent guide. You failed bc you don't know how to use it. The book's questions clearly show the core concepts tested and you can use your scores in it to focus studying on concepts you are weak in. Memorizing answers will never pass a test, you must learn the theory.
