i was gonna comment this 😭
She didn’t even stutter 😂
Eminem better watch out
😂
Jesus loves yall, died for us, and rose again! Jesus calls for all of us to repent! He's coming back
I have always wrote my song lyrics before anything else, coming up with lyrics would help me pick a song title!
How fo you write lyrics?? I got some good ideas for beats and melodies but can't writr lyrics. Any help?
@@vleaky3430 sometimes if you just think of random lines during the day or write about something that has happened that’s important to you maybe 😊
@@cloudskyecovers thanks for the quick response! Any idea on how to not write cringey lyrics?🤣 like sometimes I think I'm doing good but then the next day I read it and think it's cringe or not good.
@@vleaky3430 no problem! Sometimes your mind changes but I would say keep it anyway or try to make it as Olivia says “something that yourself would listen to” 😊
@@cloudskyecovers got it thank you
I also write my songs this way! I’m trying a new approach though, which is working on the beat and rhythm first.
same!!:)
Me too :) can you check my first music video please? And give me your opinion? I am just a beginner and your review would help :)
I usually start rhythm 1st but I love lyrics
same! But im struggling that way😭😭 its difficult for me to start off with the beat first do some reason
Jesus loves yall, died for us, and rose again! Jesus calls for all of us to repent! He's coming back
Im terrible at writing songs that dont pertain to my life, but Im doing it more and more lately. Its great to observe other peoples lives and relationships and use that : )
I ONLY write songs that don't pertain to my life. Each to their own!
Jesus loves yall, died for us, and rose again! Jesus calls for all of us to repent! He's coming back
Personally I use a hybrid approach, I typically start with rough lyrics, then I try to find a chord progression or melody that fits with the vibe of the song. After that, I take all of those ideas to my daw and produce the song, and add things that I originally hadn’t thought of, and finalize the lyrics and the composition of the song, and any extra things a
i don’t really have an approach, the songs just come to me… melody and lyrics at once… but now the problem is i can’t fit chords to it. it takes forever to figure it out!
I always write lyric first. In fact i only have music for a few ones I've written, the rest are just lyrics on their own
Oh wow I make the entire track first we’re like complete opposite’s lol
@@m3.ya13 hehe yea
Sameee here haha🫶
@@m3.ya13 how do u make melody chorus and music
@@farheenanikhath7422 I use garage band, I usually make orchestra songs lol
Omg I do this too! A lot of people say starting with the notes is more important, but I find it easier to start with the lyrics, and figure out melodies from there.
When she said the line it sounded sincere and genuine
I always write my lyrics first
So much talent in one person
This is how I do it most times but another way that works well for me is to just go for it off the dome to get the sound and you can change parts or move them around easier
Interesting, I'm curious though, do you recommend this method of songwriting by olivia?
If you have something of value and meaningful then yes but If it's sophistry like most secular music then scat sing
I recommend any method of songwriting tbh. One advantage of starting with lyrics is that it can give you provide you with the overall song concept and that can help you make musical choices. but ideas can come from anywhere, lyrics, music, melody, you got to know how to write from all possibilities.👍
@@SongWritersChopShop there are two different approaches, I think. You can start writing lyrics but as you write you also define the melody of those sentences. Or you can write just a text, like a poem, then come up with melody later. I can't do the second one properly, because if I come up with a good melody, I tend to modify the lyrics to fit in. Although I do the first one in some occasions, most of the time I come up with melody/chords first, then lyrics later (can be right next or take days/weeks).
@@rafaelsantosx you can also start with drums/beat
When I start with lyrics or what’s just in my head before I hear a beat, The song almost always sounds better every time.
She has so much talent bro😊
Eminem has been real quiet…
LMAO
Underrated
Same!! Big on lyricism
If she actually writes all her lyrics. Fair play cause they’re pretty good
She definitely took Drama and English for her GCSE or whatever it's called in America-
@@bobwilkinsonguitar6142 that's not true 🤣
I had to Google wtf a GCSE was but ours is called a General Educational Development test (most just call it a GED). 🥲
She’s one of the few who I trust because she plays instruments. Unlike other “musicians” who act like they are really good at music even tho they have their producers and teams make the music for them.
lmfao just because you don't produce your own shit does mean you're not a "musician" an artist figuring out how to structure their song in terms of (verse, chorus, bridge). and that is already hard enough to handle on your own not looking at actually playing the instruments
idk why people hate so much on musicians that don't produce, even if they can't. they are still pretty much poets which you aren't but you want to judge.
Musicians don’t have to write music. You mean you only consider preformer-songwriters to be musicians.
You don't have to play instruments to be a good musician. Ever heard of Biggie Smalls, Tupac Shakur. The voice is also a very powerful instrument which takes a lot of breath control to practice and master. Educate yourself before you make comments like these!
You should educate yourself before you make these comments because Biggie, Tupac Shakur, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston etc don't know how to play instruments yet they're on of the best artists I'm history. The voice is also a powerful instrument which takes a lot of breath control and YEARS of practice to master.
Oof guess Michael Jackson wasn’t a real musician then 🙄
Starting intro because of the vibes is wrong lmao I learned the hard way 😭
This is a legit tip
I got a couple of lyrics they, sound like something Olivia Rodrigo would sing
"You know you talk about her, like she walks on water
and that's not the problem in full
but, while you're undermining me, and up lifting her
is there any part of you that can feel how I hurt
My love was forgotten..........."
is there any part in you that feels how hurt I am
when you talk praises about her, like she is a miracle walking on water
undermining me and uplifting me,or she is the light and am it's shadow
or is it my love was long forgotten
I would write it this way anyone tell is it right or am I being poetic
I personally always start with a tune or chorus that I have in my head and then start from there. Once I have the groundwork for the song, only then do I start to write real lyrics. I feel like doing that method just allows the lyrics to naturally come into play without thinking too much about how to make it sound good in a song because you already have the song. I mostly just use filler words and sing nonsense when I get a tune in my head and that’s how it ends up working well for me
I do this as well. And it works perfectly
She is gorgeous
Your the Olivia Rodrigo wow I love déjà vu your song
Great insight from Olivia. I’ve started journaling my day-to-day experiences, free-writing my thoughts, etc. and I already feel like a better wordsmith.
32:22 thisssss>>>
This is exactly what I do!!
"Good for you. Im happy as hell". Damn those are some deep ass lyrics. Shakespearean. Joking aside i like her music and its nice to see a Filipina making it in music.
I love her
If you feel something write it
is that why she is one of the most with copyrighted songs? awesome
I write songs like that too
Excellent video
Same! ❤❤
She’s speaking facts
Chunk writing has to be one of the best ways to write.
Thats really cool
For some reason I always end up writing the chorus first and then fill in the blanks from there. I guess it helps me figure out the layout of the song
i used to do this and now i typically start with a melody or even a rough track to add lyrics to
I got inspo from your song traitor and ended actually writing my own song and one of the lines from it is “yooouuuurrrrree just a traaaaaiiitoooor” and it slaps
I do this. I tend to come up with songs out of the blue and I can sing them for ages and then I just don’t end up remembering anything I sung which sucks, but I do this aswell, I think of things especially about my ex and they can be turned into songs I just don’t know what to start and how to properly write songs but I’m hoping I’ll get there
The way she just rapped that line down like it was easy
I did wrote many songs but I really don't know anything about music. All I know is I'm passionate about it. I hum to tunes made by my head and write my lyrics. So I did completed a lot of songs but I don't know if that's the right way to make music. 😞
The "right" way is what works for you :) everyone is unique
34:32 wait whattt I’ve never known this 😮
I also write songs like this.. it's just soo much fun, when I first started, i thought it would be horrible, but somehow it turns out good, since then I have been writing them , and now my friends think I wrote like either Taylor or Olivia , ❤❤❤ my dream is to become just like them .
I usually start with the chorus melody but then that’s as far as I get sadly. I wish I could write a full song one day. I still have hope tho atleast lol
Ur so lucky cuz whenever i try to get a good melody for my choruses i just end up getting nothing good to it
@@thatbetchlol2968 usually just humming to the beat instead of trying to think of words helps me a lot. I would try to write lyrics that fit after. Look up “top lining” for songs and it might help you out as well. Good luck to you. Please don’t give up 😁
There's a video on top lining in the melody playlist, it has sia on the thumbnail 👌
Gorgeous
She's like a little Taylor Swift, it's so cute 🥹
Songwriting would be a piece of piss if my standards for lyrics were this low. 😂
Same
I didn't notice the scary part because i was reading the comments pushup bro 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭💀6:46

I need help with writing lyrics!!!
I looked at her and thought she was milly bobby brown 😂
29:25 get em b😠👊
Well yeah Ofc she writes songs with lyrics
She just raps all the way through her music history
I'm a lyrics writer and I need a producer I'm just a student getting started if you'd like to help...
If Olivia drops a rap album the world will explode basically
❤❤
"I've never felt this way for no one." I'm curious about her tendency in her lyric writing to use double negatives. She does it in several other tunes. "Just don't find no one better" etc. I think I've heard maybe Adele and Taylor do it, too. Occasionally I see it, but I've picked up on it the most with Olivia. I've always wondered if that's just taking some creative license, or if it serves another purpose I haven't thought of. I have to admit, my English teacher sensibilities struggle a bit with it! the urge to correct it is overpowering, but otoh I'm also all for creative writing, so I've got myself tied up in my own knot with this particular frame of lyric device. 🙃
She says like so many times
Where is this interview from
👍👍👌
I dont even like her music that much but we need more lyricists in today's music, not just made up stuff with autotune and a pre-recorded beat
Actually to write a song you can start from a pre-recorded beat
Autotune is not that bad if you can use it… it’s just a plug in that can help you to correct the notes you missed even though some people use it as an effect in genres like trap or r&b… all singers use autotune in studio to make it sound good and on pitch. Or else some others use it to create ideas and demos for writing down melodies… because if you think it’s used because people can’t sing, then actually they can sound awful with it no matter how much autotune you used
She Busta Rhymed it 💀
step 1: copy paramore
Funny because I ALWAYS write the melody before the lyrics as melody is truly the main character of a song. I'm surprised that the vast majority of people here take Olivia's approach (which is great BTW, I just don't/can't do it that way).
GURANTEED industry plant right here 😂
It depends on a genre, try that on trap and it's over
In Argentina for example they do freestyle in trap mostly of the time (Duki, Lit Killah, Ysy, Khea and others)
Is she a rapper
I think her favorite method of songwriting is plagiarism.
Mine too
@@SongWritersChopShop Birds of a feather
Her lyrics aren't plagiarism
It’s called inspiration
Thats one line?
Eminem better watch out for Olivia Rodrigo
HI
Who is this?
Jaws swinging
"Im a big lyricist, like i write down poems"
Also her: "well screw that, screw you!!!"
No hate y'all im just kidding, so dont kill me olivia stans
32:34 omg there’s this instagram girl who lost a lot of her breasts and people commented on how she looked better before 😮
she writes down little ideas and the teams of song writers finish them for her
Uhhh can I marry her? 🥺
Wtf why was I simping bro
I think I would work great with her, as I am a big music/melody guy, so that comes first.
What that mouf do
33:07 every top inside urban outfitters suffocates my breast and they’re bulging
She just listens to Taylor swift and copies that it's not hard
no hate but she should just stayed an actor
Because the music for all her songs has already been written by other artists. The lyrics are all that's left to do.
Horrible lyrics😂
Lyrasiss💀
👍
It can work but most hits songs are music first😮
How did that even make it in the song without rhyming 😅😅😅😅😅
