Thanks for your interesting videos . I ordered one and integrate it with Home Assistant via MQTT since the integration still not ready . so far everything is fine , it updates every change of 0.5 C. The battery life so far good and this is my big concern . If the device with new firmware will support BLE mesh , that would be a big plus for Shelly.
I have 2 aotec multi sensors (temp, humidity, illuminance, ultraviolet, motion) which I use with Hubitat for various automations. However they do not have a display. It would be nice to put one of these where my wife could check the temperature and humidity.
Thanks for sharing the details ;) I see one problem though - the Hubitat. Ditch that and go all in Home Assistant… Just Kidding here, but you share are you happy with the Hubitat?
It is impossible to get the Shelly Plus H&T connected to my Home Assistant system. I've used MQTT now and it is shown the connection in HA, but none og the sensors are visible. The "normal" Shelly H&T worked like a charm.
I've just moved to our new home with my family, and we are starting to build our smart home with home assistant. This sensor would be a nice fit in the living room :)
I have several temperature and humidity sensors based on the BME280 module and wemos D1 mini. They work flawlessly with HA. I also use a thermometers that are built into the Xiaomi AirPurifier air filters and one Xiaomi Mijia Bluetooth Thermometer 2 which is smaller than the Shelly thermometer and less energy intensive. I'd love to test the thermometer from Shelly so I can compare them.
Isn't this already possible with mesh network type such as ZigBee? Only end device do not work also as gateways but all the other one are. I'm really debating if WiFi type iot devices are reliable as dedicated mesh one. The goal should be really to have the domotic network running flawlessly whether a internet router is installed or not in a house, or been not impacted by a router replacement /restore config. What are your thoughts?
I have seven temperature/humidity sensors. They are DHT11s and DHT22s connected to esp devices, located in my office, bedroom, bathroom, garage, attic, patio, and filament dry box.
Yes! I use the built in temperature sensors in my Aqara motion sensors and for sensors. I can also pull temperature readings off my Broadlink universal remotes.
I have several different non-display temperatures and humidity sensors around the house and am planning to replace 4 of them with screen units. The new Shelly looks like a good candidate given its Alexa and home assistant compatibility. Keep up the good work with the videos.
Thanks for the great video about the Shelly Plus H&T. I am looking for a way to measure and show humidity and temperature easily in my house and after seing your video I think the Shelly Plus H&T is the thing I been looking for. I have a Shelly Uni before and I think they will complement each other good.
Haha, I love how you ask a question to make it less awkward. I do not, and I am actually looking into redoing my whole smart house. Another great video
Hi, I currently have 4 Xiaomi BLE sensor, including one in the fridge (got to make sure the temperature is right) plus some DIY temperature sensors using ESP Home and dallas temperature sensors, two of which I use in my fish tanks (got to keep an eye on those temperatures). Next project will include some BME280 sensors that I recently purchased.
Thanks for the nice video! Would be nice to also see temperature from other H&T on the display. For example the outside temperature together with the "local" temperature. Do you think it's possible to program it to work with ESPHome (firmware) instead?
I don't have any but currently I'm in a process of renovation of my apartment so I will have a lot of smart devices. Definatelly, H&T gen 2 looks interesting. I almost bought gen1 but I'm glad that I waited. I'm looking to integrate it with a humidifier. I will have wooden floor and the heating under it so I'm looking for something to keep humidity at a constatnt level. Idea is to install the humidifier with a shelly 1 that would allow me to automate so the humidifier would power on when humidity falls under certain level.
I wanted to see it in action. I do not have one yet. I want to be able to have my GA tell me the inside temp/humidity, and also to use it as a trigger device for other automation.
Super add-on to a smart home. I’m using a few Aquara H&T sensors without display. The Shelly H&T sensor is a perfect expansion to extend the WiFi coverage and can be monitored and automated by Home Assistant 💪🏻
