I'd say he is a world class mountaineer and an author.

Quite an achievement climbing all 14 8 thousanders. Viesters and Scott Fisher {deceased} were "rescuing" Chantal Manduit {deceased.} Chantal was one of those who loved the limelight but didn't like the tedium and hard work of mountaineering {from what I understand.} I think Viesters is a great mountaineer. I don't think he's any Messner or {who's the polish guy who died on Lhotse? Jerzy K.} These guys were great rock climbers and commandeered new routes. They broke "new ground."
seems really humble. awesome climber but his part in 'vertical limit' was disappointing.
@bensnow003: Yes I read the book and I loved it! I agree that feminism and promiscuity has destroyed a lot of the chivalry in Western Society; however, that does not detract from what Ed did. It is scary that someone as young as you could be so bitter!
@bensnow003-Bear in mind this one, immutable fact: There is one woman out there who is your future wife. She is already picked out for you, you just have to find her and marry her. The way you are now treating other men's wives, so may your wife be similarly treated. Karma.
