I would bet the majority complaining about B.A’s business class have never used it. It’s nowhere near as bad as the seat layout looks and the food varies from very good to outstandingly good. Sure they are no longer the prestige airline they were 20+ years ago but with some of the deals I get I use them without hesitation.
Finally, a comment I agree with! While the seats don't look the best, they are very comfortable and the privacy on the window seats is fantastic. The food I've had on all of my BA flights has been excellent as has been the crew
How do you get deals with B.A?
Seats are fine. Storage is terrible. The worst part is the creepy Ying Yang seat arrangement. For women it’s quite unsettling sitting face to face with a stranger - it’s just frikkin odd ! Actually no. That’s not the worst part. The worst part is climbing over someone who is sleeping to get to the aisle. Who designed this ? That person needs to be publicly shamed and ridiculed ! Idiot !

Hope you enjoy our city! This flight is the only reason I have BA and OneWorld loyalty. BA is just not good unfortunately but, we don’t have many options in San Diego for transatlantic flights.
Wonderful flight report
Flew BA ClubWorld LHR to CPT on a 747 in June. Whilst the cabin layout was diabolical (no direct aisle access for window seats), the service and food were great. However the poor old Queen of the Skies was looking tired and could have done with a good clean. Re this video loved the LHR take off views. Also loved the whine of those engines.

I had the same Issue at Train stations in Europe. Everyone would just be uncomfortably standing in the main area waiting for a track assignment.

If you’d come in on the A350 that would have been a B or C gate arrival you could have done flight connections at B saving you the hassle of going to the busy main terminal. Also *most* of the big jets will go from B or C gates however some *CAN* go from the bus gates at A10. You can get from A to B to C or back via the walkways under the transit without having to go via flight connections again.

Flew American Airlines from LHR to Miami as it has business class seats 1-2-1, the same as Cathay Pacific from whom they license the design....far better comfort and privacy.
I flew BA last week and got this old business class seating and configuration. Window seats have awful access to aisle, except for the last row...which i had to pay extra to reserve in advanced. Foot rest that folds down and thus impede access to window seats is such a design failure. Switch to raise the divider or blinds (so you don't end up staring at someone all throughout the flight) is hidden on top of the seats.
Food was great and service was impeccable...!
Love San Diego thought it was a very lovely place to visit doing the trolly tour was great adventure
21:30 in my opinion, I’ve never had any horrible experiences with British Airways like a lot of others have had. They are still decent, but they are no where near the “Worlds Favorite Airline” that they used to be before 2010. Some of the cost cutting measures that have taken place in BA have just ruined the airline. Sad reality.

An enjoyable video. I think BA is the only airline flying directly to San Diego from LHR, so that most probably the reason that the flight was full.
LH flies A343 5x FRA-SAN and WK flies A343 ZRH-SAN(Summer only) 2x a week.
So if you have a Business Class window seat and the isle seat person is sleeping do you actually have to climb over them to go to the toilets?

Weird cabin lay out if you ask me !! Cannot understand why they went with this design. Thanks for the great take off vision and sound !! Hope your nuts were warm !! A pretty good flight but the seating leaves me cold...however it would appear the food and drink service made up for the short comings!! Excellent vision coming into San Diego and thanks for the trip !!
Why are so many airlines installing 3-4-3 configuration in the 777?
Absolutely fantastic review. I've watched a lot and this is by far the most thorough and informative. Can anyone comment on the quality of the noise cancelling headphones? Usually bring my own but won't bother if they're good. Thanks in advance.
While I would say any business class is better than economy; 2-4-2 is just absolutely disgusting for a business class product on any airline trying to claim it's one of the worlds premier carriers. I've seen coffins with more space. Lucky the food looked decent.

A mi me gusta mucho la cabina de Club World. Aqui en Cancún el vuelo proviene de Gatwick y es operado con los 772 con cabinas antiguas (excepto cabina J) (Yo fuí CSA de BA)

Be careful going to b or c gates too early, sometimes the flights depart from gate 10 from which the coach takes you to the aircraft.
Great video! Liked and subscribed. Recently flew on the VA upper class from SEA to LHR and comparing it to BA, the VA product is 100X better. Better food, all seats have access to aisle, VA lounge in LHR has to be top 5 in the world, and overall awesome service. Looking forward to your next video.

What’s the best seats for a couple? We currently have 11 F & 11 G. Do we need E/F?
E/F are the best if you want to be sitting side to side during the flight, however for me personally, I'd go for either A/B or J/K so two can be sitting facing each other.
I really don't understand some airlines obsession (BA, AA in particular) with closing the window shades on daytime flights in Business Class and First Class! If people want to sleep, they have eye shades in their amenity kits. I like to look out of the window and enjoy the daylight. It is also better to use natural light so that you can suffer jet lag a little less.
Completely agree. BA haven't done this on the transatlantic flights I have been on. EU airlines are quite liberal in that regard. Perhaps this is a new thing for BA. Asian airlines are the worst for that. Cathay and EVA especially. You can be on a 16 hour day flight (NYC-HKG) and they force simulated night time on you for 13 of those 16 hours! Crazy.

Nice review. The interiors of fairly young 777s (4 + years old) are really starting to look dated.
everyone else is far ahead in the hardware. 2-4-2 in C is a rip off. Should take a look at VA or even AA or UA shame on BA

BA loses me as a customer with the unacceptable 2-4-2 seating in Business Class. They need to catch up with the times. When one is paying Business Class fares, direct aisle access is mandatory nowadays. I might as well save my money and take Premium Economy. The meal service looked satisfactory and I was glad to hear that your FA's were attentive to your needs. If they are the only non- stop service from LHR to SAN it looks like they will have great passenger loads regardless of their on board service and amenities. Thanks for a comprehensive review. As a semi-regular Club World passenger with B.A. I can’t find anything wrong with their product. If you’re a single passenger and avoid the 2 centre seats the screens give more privacy than some other Airlines Business Class. The food is always very good and also the service. Sure they are not the prestige airline they were 20+ years ago but considering some of the good deals I get I wouldn’t hesitate using them. The secret is to avoid their economy which is dreadful.

The chicken looked undercooked!!! The trout looked frozen still. Airplane food is always nasty no matter what class or airline we take (and I have flown Qatar and Emirates too)
If you think the 4 year old 777 is beginning to feel dated, it will be interesting to see what you make of the 20-25 year old 747s. Spoiler alert: I'm not a fan. They may wash out all the nostalgia and romance from your eyes.

Wow... at about 2:07, I was kinda shocked to see that old BOAC livery on that 747! I haven't seen that since the '70s! What a memory that brings back to me.

Not all widebodies at Heathrow Terminal 5 leave from the B and C gates. I've had one flight to San Diego leave from gate A10 (as it was leaving from a remote stand).
I have been told there are a couple of gates on the main building (A gates) capable to accommodate widebody aircraft. I personally flew to Nairobi on B747 from an A gate.

I thought the BA 77W fleet are equipped with Rolls Royce engines because the government was pissed at the decision of BA using GE90 engines for the 772 fleet and mandated RR engines on all future wide bodies in the fleet

Not all of BA's 777s use GE90s, some use Rolls-Royce Trent 800s.
All 77Ws are powered by GE90s.

YOU hate T5? *I* hate T5. When I flew out of there Feb. 2009 NOBODY told me about the satellites. When I asked how to get to the tram connecting the main terminal to the satellites I was told nobody could help me. Absolute cretins. But if I wanted to know where Chanel and Louis Vuitton was, that was a different matter!

Looked like the landing was smooth like butter. Maybe it's me, but BA seems a bit stodgy to me. Virgin seems more laid back. Probably my imagination. As I fly mostly domestic here in US, it's Delta all the way. They are the best!
