It still blows my mind that the guy who singlehandedly created this game also composed all of this music himself. One person being able to program such a great game, write all of the dialogue and stories, design all of the characters, make all of the music, and with no team to help him. Really amazing how talented some people are.
Game design including story writing, coding/programming, art design, sound design, music, game testing, bug fixes, marketing were pretty much all done by Eric Barone. Very few indie designers could ever be such a Renaissance man of game design.
Reminds me of Zun, single handedly raised the most popular culture in Japan, Touhou with his music that he composed himself that paired with his games that he designed and programmed himself
That's one hell of a dream! My dreams are so realistic I only realise it wasn't real when it's like noon or something or if it is about someone I know, I only realise it didn't happen when I meet them or contact them
So like yesterday, I dreamt that I was with 16 other classes of which were split into 12 groups to watch seperate movies, I'd go through 2 movies because I hated watching movies, but instead the movie rooms became fucking adventures. Mine became a minecraft server and when you die in there you duplicate your items. four hours in and we had already constructed a beacon and a sandstone room. And the second another movie room was a group going through a small town and there being plants and all, when going home, I went home with a friend to my sister's apartment, we had chocolate milk and only had the living room lights on, the mood was great. Then I fucking woke up, to a prison, as it turns out, me and the others had never left the movie rooms. I was somehow able to go between the bars into another prison/movie room, movie room 4, I knew there was nothing else I could do, so I grabbed a bed and moved it, I covered myself with my blankets and went back to sleep, but was almost immediately interrupted by a group of breakout teams, there floated 7 golden rings in between the yellow bunk beds, yet there was room for an eighth. no worries because the cell door was opened anyways by mysterious means, I went and walked into the prison room eight right with their doors open, seeing they had eight blue rings, I thought, and somehow pulled out eight golden ingots, and eight lapis. crafting them in the air and making a stuck together golden and blue ring, like just stuck sideways. then the riot broke out, the students scatters and noises were loud. I ran down a city like road, looking around asking, I found a cell room 4 classmate and gave them the golden blue ring, not explaining shit they just ran. I ran off as well, down a city slope, pulling out a blanket, I jumped, leaping about 3-4 metres, gliding down slowly I began singing fallen kingdom the Minecraft parody, gliding down, I saw a strange swing, it was made of metal and had a pommel seat with a bar going right up, I knew instantly what it would do and I hopped right on. I swung and I spun around around 4 times, unable to catch myself but still having so much fun, I see that the some other students were coming this way and I decide to just fall off the swing and hope for the best. a school friend catches me in a strangly graceful way, I laugh, he laughs, I run off into a bush and wake up. My left hands still holding in a fist as if holding the edges of the gliding blanket, and my right hand on my chest. god I woke up at fucking 1:30 something pm.
This is getting me through a paper I have to write for work. I have used the life hack of listening to field music from video games to study before, but this is my first time using Stardew Valley! It's very soothing.
Took me ages to edit it all in. Had to re-render the video a thousand times as well, because the editing software started to act up due to the videos length :P
i remember when i started playing this. after 2 days of playing my dog died that was 13 years old. most of these soundtracks are nailed to my head as nightmares unfortinately, especially 50:35 and 1:03:38. sometimes i come her and listen to this when im sad. As for the game i never touched it even though i really liked playing

I know everyone's talking about the music, which is all incredible, but I just want to appreciate the effort you put into animating this, and especially that night cycle. well done!
*Somebody else initially pointed this out, but I'll pass on their idea here, in case you haven't noticed. :)* For Spring + Summer, the music seems more upbeat, since you've just moved into the Valley and are still exploring, meeting townspeople, getting into a routine, and such. As time passes, the Fall + Winter music becomes more subtle and calm, as you've met the townspeople, maybe made some friends, gotten used to life in the Valley, and settled into a routine. *(While I believe that yes, this could be part of it, I also think that Winter + Fall are supposed to be slowed down, and a time to relax -- because right as spring picks up, the music gets upbeat and cheery again.)*
Amazing soundtrack, definitely up there with my all time favorites. I think Winter has the best out of them all though, it’s so beautiful and gives me chills every time.
The music is so calming... I wish music would naturally play depending on what we're doing. Like this music, another comment said they play this while they work at a farm. Honestly, that's freaking amazing and I wish I could experience it myself. But there's always headphones, but the risk of something happening to them and also you going deaf lol. When I was a kid I was absolutely obsessed with (the newly released) Sims 1 and 2 - especially 2, that game was fantastic. When I hear the soundtracks from those games it does something special to me, those feelings are the kind that you don’t really feel as an adult anymore. I can imagine when my daughter is older like me, this music will bring her the same amazing feelings. This and Minecraft, which also has pretty amazing music.
My favorites : Dance of the Moonlight Jellies, Fall (Ghost Synth), Winter (The Wind Can be Still), Spring (Its a Big world outside.), Summer (Tropicala), a Golden Star is Born. Its extremely magical.
I'm an avid gamer and this is one of the few games that I'm truly excited to play each time. It takes me back to when I was a kid and sitting down with my favorite game was actually the highlight of my day.
Just bought this game on Christmas Eve, 2022. I'm kicking myself for not having bought it sooner. I thought it was just a Harvest Moon 64 clone. Turns out, it's what Harvest Moon 64 SHOULD have been. It's like he took every aspect of that game and expanded it 100 fold. It's a true masterpiece.
After all of these years I think it’s safe to say that Stardew Valley is still my favorite video game of all time. It’s the only game that even just looking at the logo or some other image of the game fills me with joy and makes me want to play it again.

I was going through a very bottom line moment of my life then I decided to give a chance to this game. I cant put in word's how much it help me deal with my depression and sadness it's. simply amazing.
This game got me through a really rough time in my life. It was such a bright spot that when I hear the music, I don't think of how tough things were for me then, I think of how much joy this brought me, and still brings me.
I play this game whenever i feel like playing a game that doesnt require a whole lot and just chill with the sounds its amazing and great for whenever your smoking a bowl
