Suggestion: take one of your clay storage vessels and surround it with dirt except for one hay block, so that it's in a tiny sealed "room". (Set it into the wall or floor to save space.) Use the hay block on the block you need to break for access, since hay blocks break very quickly. Being in a "room" with solid walls will give the vessel the "cellar" food preservation buff, which will make all your food last much longer. Once you are ready to build a house, you can have a real cellar with a proper door (not the crude door, it's not insulating), so you don't have to break blocks to grab a snack.
Fun fact: The better fuel you use in the pit kiln the faster it fires. So I like to use peat for pit kilns. And shells can be ground into lime. Good for early leather if one is up for the grind. And you should try digging deeper in some of those ruins
30:00 About the generation of most ores in this game. The veins are generated in the form of flat “discs” (often 1 block thick) that completely follow the surface topography - you can think of the ore and rock as layers of colored paper that fold parallel to each other. Thus, these disks are almost completely flat under the plains, and under, for example, a sharp cliff break of 4-5 blocks, you can dig these 4-5 blocks vertically to follow the vein
I totally love this game! Thank you for introducing it to me! (Might have just gone and bought a copy!) Anyway, i love the idea of being near the twin peaks snow capped mountains, lol. Can't wait for the next episode! Keep up the amazing content! ❤
25:15 While smelting you can start with wood and get it up to 700 and then switch to charcoal/coal to save it a little since charcoal is annoying to get
Enjoying the videos! Random tidbits to follow :D Charcoal making is an imperfect process, so you don't get full conversion of your firewood, that's why there was the gaps. The crates from the translocator ruins are useful btw. When you have enough food to cook 6 portion meals, I like to just carry the whole cooking pot full of the meal and a bowl with me so I have lots of food.
Oh that makes sense with the charcoal. I used to carry multiple bowls of meals and come back to my house where I left my pot to refill them. Your method is so much smarter 😅 gonna do that from now on I think.
A few extra torches might be nice. If they are in your packs they don't go out in deeper water. Plus you can leave one next to the firepit for lighting things if you remember to pick it up and replace it every day or so.
Peat is good for burning, so I've heard. *ETA* : do you have a mod that affects soil spawning or are you running an old version? Terra Preta doesn't spawn naturally any more, you have to craft it using compost.
I’m playing version 1.19. I have the “More Clay” mod, which makes red and brown clay generate in the ground. I don’t know much about Terra Preta, only that it’s very rare. Maybe it spawns sometimes in ruins? I just looked at the wiki, and yeah it says that version 1.19 and after don’t generate Terra Preta. Unless the wiki is wrong… Maybe the clay mod made the world follow some older methods of generation or something. Weird.
Hi not to be that guy but peridot is pronounced pear-i-doe. I think it's French maybe but the t is silent and makes the do say doe like a deer. I love watching this game and you're doing an awesome job!❤
Someone told me it was because of the ruins. I honestly don’t know, but I found Terra Preta again in another world in some ruins, so that must be the case.

32:24 Fun fact, if you fall whilst sliding along a wall you're fall damage will be greatly reduced.
Oh that explains it

Thank you! Yeah, based on feedback I’m probably going to relocate to those twin mountains.
Have fun with the game!

I appreciate your videos as always. Thanks for showing me that.... Eh I think I'll pass on playing this game but I'll enjoy your videos. 😊
Brown coal can be used as a substitute for smelting and for the forge but only black coal can be used for the bloomery.
Oh snap I didn’t know that! Thanks

That terra pretta spawns in that specific ruin. It wasn't a natural world spawn

@@azungu1190 it's my birthstone! 💚 Gotta stick up for it and give it special treatment haha
move to the place with the lake and a mountin over the lake
Wait, you're on 1.19.8... and you found... Terra Preta? Shouldn't it be high fertility soil? Did you make the world before the change?
