My thoughts on "Where to start:" I always tell people that they can read book 1 and stop and be happy; they can read books 1-3 and stop and be content; but if you go beyond book 3, you really have to finish it all. (it makes it a little less intimidating) I've had many friends read only book 1 and really enjoy it.
That's a great way to ease people into the series!
A lowdown of the magic and different cultures would be dope.
My next video will discuss the Wheel, the Pattern, reincarnation, threads (people), and the Creator and Dark One. I hope to do one about the One Power (the Magic) soon after that! Good ideas!

The Light truly shines on you good sir. If I were to pick a topic to cover it would be the sex and nudity in the books and how they differ from GoT for those just hearing about the books/show from friends it will put them in the right mindset to see WHY the nudity is there and why the sex isnt graphic and how most of this was left to the readers imagination. I truly hope they do it justice in the show. Keeping TV fans happy isnt the same as keeping the book fans happy they have to strike a balance that keeps the sexy and but leaves out the vulgar GoT went to.
PS I am NOT a prude I did still enjoy GoT in all aspects but i know the way a dirty mind works and if someone is told "its the next GoT" their possibly going to expect it to be not just as fantastical but possible as vulgar. GoT set a president that may reflect poorly on WoT no matter how great the books are. Also Thank you for mentioning Audible. It is the best way to get a non reader to "read" the series. Hell Ive read it many times and still have it on audible because i just dont have the time i want to do everything and read.

I started this series less than two weeks ago, and am already onto the Great Hunt. I am definitely enjoying it. Loving the video! I find myself more than I ever have before wanting to nerd out and look at stuff about the world when I'm not reading.
Be so careful about looking up stuff on the Internet about the books! You are very likely going to get spoiled! Trust me, these books are so much better when you don't know what's coming! A great place to discuss the books when you have questions is the /r/wot community on Reddit. They do a great job of hiding spoilers and allowing discussion for new readers! I'm jealous that you get to read these books for the first time!

...hopefully Amazon’s TV series doesn’t muck it up... the characters, the richness of the description of locale let alone the world in which it occurs... the interplay of characters let alone the mix of what happens to them... recently read the entire series again... second time through. This time I read all 14 books in three and a half weeks... and loved getting lost in the blight...
If you’re new to the Wheel of Time just take the books one at a time... don’t think about it... just do it! BTW... We’re living it... so beware of the Shadow... the metaphors are all around you and with those steeped in lies... so pay attention (and risk getting banned - take a stand so-to-speak).

Hey just buying all the books is $$$. Your library is bound to have it. Being a huge fan and a librarian I make sure that I have all the books plus put them on display often. I love your video as a great, short intro. A 2-minute sell would be better!
Dude! I cant believe I forgot to mention the library. That's where I got most of the books when i started reading them in the 90s. Why didn't I think of saying that?!
Maybe you could to some content about the major themes of these epic books? There are quite a few to choose from, but you could e.g. start here:
* The FRIENDSHIP between the Emond Fielders throughout the series even when life/destiny tries to pull them apart
* How important BALANCE is. Both micro for each human both internal (especially Rand's journey) and external (you could use Egwene's story). In groups like the Emond Fielders. And in macro scale like 'the battle' between the sexes (the magic system) or in how you rule (Elaida vs Perrin), etc.
* DUTY. We all remember Lan teaching Rand during the first books about duty, but Rand marches throughout the story towards his own death and naturally he struggles with it. The same for Mat to lesser extend. And Lan doing what he must and Nyneave's response to it. Duty is heavier than a mountain...
I think you and I are on the same wavelength my friend! The second episode will include some of the themes you mentioned. I'm already nearly finished with writing the script. I mostly talk about Balance and "duality" in the series, but I definitely intend to address the other themes you mentioned in future videos as well! May the Light shine on you!
