Hey dex, three things i wanted to share with you. 1. The arrow orbital item is hard caped at 10 total pierce and bounce. That is why you saw little difference going from 7 to inf. Pierce. 2. The mighty mezcal staff deserves a bit more love, especially since it scales with projectile count and cool down, not attack speed. 3. Try building a run with ollin, where you focus damage/crit/crit%, replace attack speed with cooldown reduction, and pick items with the word cooldown in the description. Attack speed is overrated IMHO.
Actually there is no limit on the amount of piercing and bounce on your projectiles (so no limit for orbiting arrows too) but there is a limite of piercing gained by the pierce on crit object and the limit is indeed 10
So... I think many people don't realize how some stuff synergieses so far.... Cool down reduction can become insanely broken. For example, the True survivor perk that gives you 10% attack speed every 120 seconds is also affected by this. Dex had a 51% cooldown at that time it first showed up, so True Survivor would trigger after a bit over a minute and not every 120 seconds. If you consider some of the most broken items like a shield that lets you take a free hit every 60 seconds, or the med-kit that heals you once every 60 seconds when you take 2 damage for 2health are also affected by this, you can get your cooldown so low that all that stuff triggers in mere seconds. I got a run where I had a cooldown of 9% so my shield and health Refilled every 5.4 seconds. There is also a perk that doubles your attack speed slowly over 10 seconds. Yes, that is also affected by cooldown. Now to a skill which I think absolutely sucks, is the whirlwind that fires one projectile circling around you every 4 seconds. This translates to an Attack speed of 0.25 attacks per second, so it attacks about 6 times slower as your starting attack at level 1 and while yes it also is affected by cooldown reduction even a 25% cooldown speed only increases its attack speed to 1 attack per second. Which is still slower than your basic attack at LVL 1. So it's very bad, and pretty much every other thing you can pick will always be better than it. Now there is also a card that says if you crit your attack pierces. This made me think that if I get 100% crit I would have an unlimited arrow shield around me. The sad truth is, no, it did not work. Apparently there is a cap for piercing, so the arrows that circle you disappear after a few hits. Thus, whirlwind is one of the worst skills you can pick atm.
My main issue with the game is the lack of clarity, especially when updates change wordings or how something is presented, like how cooldown reduction was changed from showing 200% to 50%. For the rest half of the picks were bad and just to see how they work with area. The arrow is a slight exception because it USED to be possible to stack them up to 20 and keep them, but that changed. It pretty much nuked anything around you but without area you have to move, which is bad
i was with you until you started slandering whirlwind. it used to work with the crit pierce, but now it's capped to 10 pierce max iirc. that's still a lot of dmg. the best part about whirlwind is you get to stock up projectiles and then erase tougher enemies. if you had 9% cooldown, your whirlwind would effectively be endless.
@@alveolate whirlwind at 9% equals to an attack every 0.36 seconds so about 2.7 attacks per second. Which in this game, is really not a lot when you realize you could easily get your base attack speed to something like 20 attacks per second. I am not sure what the cap for piercing on it is. I cannot find anything about it in the patch notes. Which is something i agree with Dex is that its not a good thing from the dev. And sure letting it gather up and hitting a tough enemy sounds smart. But there are only 2 bosses atm and after them its just hordes of enemies. I will be honest, once the enemys swarmed i pretty much never saw a circling arrow ever again. As soon as they spawn they dissapear. Ofc it does add some damage, but personally i think there is better stuff to invest in like attack speed.
17:52 its not you who decides which projectile gets destroyed ... its the game´s decision... take this perk early in a game a watch it pierce... in my observation 20-30% of the projectiles pierce then
I know this is an old Video, but DEX is the Definition of "Didn't Read, don't care!" And then complain about not having certain items! 😀 He had the item "each crit makes the arrow penetrate" and even said he doesn't want it, picked something else and then went on for 2 minutes that the item would have been so good. And then, 10 minutes later he's like "yeah, I need that, sadly it doesn't show up..."
RCE had 1 million bounty so that lead me to see how good others are if they never get touched since RCE had the more health = bigger body and bigger projectiles so very big missles and ping pong ability is making it so the whole screen had been filled with huge missles huge lag spikes and i think no lag at the end since every enemy dies too fast and if he gets hit by moving intentionally he explodes into a nuclear bomb wiping the whole map and cant die and just wants to lose to end the game
How do you manage to insert "r" to the word "idea" lmao, everytime I hear you say it, I try to understand how does that happen. And I'm even polish and roll my R's!
I don’t know why dex focuses so much on aoe size. After a certain point, around 250% it’s pointless. It doesn’t contribute to damage or survivability at all.

I think tornado work well with crit pen, it was not working bc your bullet go beyond screen and disappear
